We are a loving Christian couple who wishes to experience the joy of raising a child through the miracle of adoption. We have been married for ten years. We have two children, Ta'sina and Koda, ages nine and seven. We share a common love of the Lord and family, and place importance in bringing up our children to appreciate cultural diversity, music, art, nature, and education.
Meet Mark
Mark speaks several languages and his extended family members include a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. He is a published author and a song writer. He is also an artist whose work is featured in Native American museums. He and our children enjoy field trips, historical reenactments and touring elementary schools to educate children about Native culture, the Civil War and Victorian era. When he is not working on his various projects, Mark is giving piggy back rides, drawing pictures of Star Wars characters with Koda, or playing "tea party" with Ta'sina.
Mark keeps us laughing doing impressions from movies, political figures and celebrities. He often calls the kids during his breaks at work, doing silly voices of our children's imaginary friends to entertain them. At Christmas he dresses up like Santa to deliver presents. He believes that firm but gentle guidance is important in raising a healthy, happy, loving, and respectful child.
Mark is very grounded, hardworking and productive. He also enjoys remodeling houses, interior design, shopping for antiques, and cooking food from around the world. Mark is very upbeat, and is quick to lend a hand to those in need.
Meet Sheryl
Sheryl is an accomplished musician who plays piano, guitar, oboe, English horn, bagpipes and other instruments. Sheryl enjoys home schooling our children, and taking them to their many activities, which include piano, guitar, voice lessons, scouting, Tae kwon do, and dance. Sheryl enjoys reading, baking, making delicious fruit smoothies, and making crafts for her family and friends.
She loves taking the kids to the beach, the zoo, walks in the park, bike rides, swimming, theme parks, and the library. Sheryl is loved by practically everyone who meets her, and is a very sweet, giving, and loyal friend. She is always singing silly songs to the kids, and playing games or doing jigsaw puzzles with them. Sheryl is a dedicated mother that will offer your child the love, nurturing, support, and guidance that they deserve.
Meet Ta'sina and Koda
Our children, Koda and Ta'sina, are so excited about having a baby sister or brother to join our happy family. They talk about all the things they are going to teach our baby. Ta'sina is a sweet girl who is quick to give homemade cards and gifts to people, whether for a holiday or just to lift someone’s spirits. She makes gifts for all the employees at the library every Christmas and she is already thinking about what gift to make for the birth mother of our new baby.
Koda has a very active imagination and tries to follow in his daddy's footsteps in writing. He is a very independent child with a big heart and makes us all laugh with his antics. We often find the children planning and practicing shows they put on for the family. Both our children have a deep faith that has grown of their own choices. They will be positive role models for your child, bringing lots of fun and laughter.
About Our Home
Our one and a half story Victorian house contains five bedrooms, three bathrooms, home school room, den, living room, kitchenette, and full kitchen. It was built in 1885 and has been remodeled from the original farm house it was in its day. It is very charming and is about 4,500 square feet. It also includes a deck and spacious front porch. Our home is located on one acre of privacy-fenced yard complete with a swing set, shady oaks, fruit trees, dog kennel, and barn.
