Vincent feeding his baby girl. |
To Vincent and Adrienne,
Not long ago we met as strangers. We were strangers who needed each other. I needed you to open your hearts and home to my child. You needed me to give you a child that you had longed for. It is my belief that at the time of conception, God was forming a plan to bring us together in spite of the hundreds of miles that separated us.
From the moment we met, I felt a sense of relief. I was relieved that God had sent angels to care for my child. Although I was relieved, I was also hesitant to believe total strangers could love my child as their own. It wasn’t until I watched you two at the hospital holding and caring for my child, did I realize how amazing adoption could be. My fears quickly deteriorated.
Vincent, as if vowing to protect her, you gently picked up my little girl and wrapped your arms around her. The look in your eyes was priceless. It was not unlike the way my deceased father used to look at me when he told me he loved me. You were always concerned when her last feeding or diaper change was. It was clear to me that she had not only conquered your heart but that she was in good hands. I will not be there to see it, but God bless the day that she first calls you Daddy. Adrienne, when a woman delivers a child, instinctively she cries tears of joy. You might as well have delivered her because your tears never ran dry. You are truly a gift from God. The love and nurture that you gave my child was so real and strong that all who was privy to witness you with her felt it. It is my honor to have played such a role in you becoming a mother.
I love you both. I cannot tell you how much it means to me to know that two people such as you adopted my baby. I wish you all the happiness in the world. May God bless you because you have definitely blessed me.
Thank You,
Birthmother in Indiana
