Dear Birthmother,

Through my website, I hope to give you a snapshot of my personality and life.  I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be considered to raise your child.  I promise to raise your child in a secure home that values humanity, education and spiritual growth.  

Family and Friends
I’m an only child and I am very close to my parents.  They also live in California, very close by.  I feel fortunate to have my parents near.  They are excited about becoming grandparents, and are looking forward to having a little one to dote on.

I have a big family spread across the US.  Most of my family from my mother’s side resides in California and Texas.  On my father’s side they canvas the East, Midwest and South.  Although we’re spread out, we stay connected through phone calls, emails and annual visits. 

My friends are also very important to me.  I have friends who are just like my family.  Since my family is spread out across the US, I spend a lot of time with my friends.  We have potlucks at each other’s homes, go to art shows, hang out in bookstores or chill at the beach.   Your daughter will be surrounded by loving “aunties” and a few “uncles” who will make her feel special. 

My Home
I’m a city girl.  I was born and raised in the city and I enjoy the hustle and bustle.  I live in a two-story condominium in the hub of a California city.  It’s a short distance from parks, schools, shopping malls and medical facilities.  I love it because I have everything at my finger tips.

My Faith
I believe in God.  I was raised in a Christian home.   I currently attend a Four-Square church that is near my home.  I enjoy attending this church because it is very diverse with believers of many nationalities.  I will also raise your child with Christian values. 

My Career
I am a special education teacher by profession.  I’ve taught elementary students with mild to moderate disabilities for nine years.  For the past four years, I’ve been an advisor to school administrators on special education policies; and I monitor about 60 special education programs.  It’s a challenging job, but there’s never a dull moment. 

Fun, Fun, Fun
I respect the diversity of our planet.  Being able to experience life, outside of my own, brings me great joy.  One reason why I chose the teaching profession is because, in addition to working with children, it allows me the time to travel and engage in new and exciting experiences.  I’ve been to Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, and of course within North America.  When I think of having a daughter to share these experiences with me, I feel very excited.  She, too, would be encouraged to experience all the planet has to offer.

When I’m not planning a trip, I’m delving into the activities that California has to offer.  I love the outdoors and with the mild temperatures, there are many opportunities to play outside. I’m in a hiking club and I take day hikes around my town.  I also enjoy going to art galleries, botanical gardens, bike riding on scenic bike paths, hanging out at the beach or just having dinner out with friends.  I believe it’s important that people get the opportunity to participate in activities that bring them joy.  I will always support and encourage your child to pursue her interests, whatever they are.

In Closing
I am excited to be adopting a child and look forward to the ups and downs of parenthood.  I was blessed to have been raised in a nurturing home surrounded by people who loved me unconditionally.  I would like to pass this blessing on to your daughter.
