Dear Birthmother,

We are so excited to be starting this process again!  We are Bret and Heidi from Minnesota and we have a one year old daughter named Colette who was adopted through Lifetime last year.  For us, when we decided to start our family it was a natural feeling to begin down the adoption path. We are eager and humbled to start a new journey in adding another child to our family circle.

About Us
We love to travel, watch sports, explore museums and attend musicals and plays.  With the addition of Colette, we have been introduced to another world that consists of puppet shows in the park, Dora the Explorer Live and Yo Gabba Gabba.   It is important to us, and for our child, to be exposed to various diverse activities and cultures our world has to offer to instill a strong appreciation for diversity.   

A Little About Bret
Bret and I have been together for eight years and married for three.  As I sit here writing this, all I can do is smile when I think about him.  His kindness, loyalty, and genuine love for me and our daughter are infinite. 

Bret has a B.A. in marketing and is a regional manager for a medical sales company.  I am fortunate his job allows me to stay home with Colette.   His job offers flexibility, so he is able to arrange his schedule to be with Colette when I am at school, to attend check- ups, and to head to the zoo on a random Tuesday afternoon.

Another one of Bret’s interests is watching or playing sports.  Everything from log rolling to the Super Bowl; he loves it all.  Bret also enjoys a wide range of movies, home projects, being outdoors and in the water, and did I mention sports!

A Little About Heidi
If I could throw a bag into the air that had an endless amount of colors and pieces, that is what it feels like to have Heidi as my wife, my best friend. Some of her interests include: books, gardening, politics, volunteering, painting, music and asking me a million questions about everything!

She has two graduate degrees and is finishing up her PhD in clinical psychology.  Despite being committed to her education, we always feel she has time for us.  Her energy and spirit makes her a person that you always want to be around.  She’s funny, sincere, honest and genuine.  I don’t want to brag, but I’m one lucky guy, she’s a catch!    

About Colette
If she were green with polka dot hair, she would still be perfect.  She has been such a gift that has made our life so much more full in countless ways.  She is very interested in other children and we know she is ready to be a big sister (her talking to her dolls was a clear indication!).  We have two chow chows, Otis and Gladys, who have been by her side since we brought her home from the hospital. 

Our Home
Our three story, four bedroom, four bath home is ready for another child to be running around in it.  We have a quarter acre of backyard that includes an in-ground swimming pool and lots of area to play and run around.  Even though we live in the suburbs, we also wanted to be close to city life.  We are only 15 minutes from downtown, so it’s the best of both worlds. 

Our Promise
The talents and gifts you passed on to your baby at birth will be nurtured, encouraged, and celebrated.  We will love and support your baby so they will develop into the person you, us, and the Lord meant for them to be in this world.  Your child will always know how much their birthparent(s) love them and that being adopted is something unbelievably special and something to be proud of.

If someone could peak into our life and was able to see us right now, you’d find us sitting at our kitchen table, eating dinner and talking and laughing with each other.  We know that God has already selected a baby for us and this is just the unique journey we are on to meet him or her.  Let the journey begin!
