Dear Birthmother,
Hi! We are Corey and Marla, and we're excited to be parents for your child. We’ve been married 10 years, and have been trying to start our family for several years. We hope that our journey and yours may have a happy ending for us all.
Our Story
We met in college and dated for five years before we got married. We’ve been living in the suburbs of a major city in Texas. During our 15 years together, we have been able to nurture our relationship and build a solid foundation for a
family. We enjoy spending time together, whether it's going to the gym, dining out, going to local festivities, live sporting events, or movies. Occasionally, we scuba dive and golf. We love to travel near and far, and we plan to introduce our future children to the different cultures of the world.
About Marla
Marla was adopted from South Korea when she was three months old. She always felt that she would one day adopt her own child, so that she could give back to the world as she had been given. She has two older brothers, which is why her adoptive parents decided to adopt a girl. As the daughter of an Air Force officer, she lived in many places, including Germany, before settling down in southern Texas. She stayed in Texas to get her bachelor's degree in Psychology. While in the Army, she was able to visit her orphanage in South Korea, which was a very special experience.
Marla enjoys time with family and friends, and also volunteers for a local agency that helps sexually abused children. She will be a stay-at-home mom, and she will love every minute of it!
About Corey
Corey was born and raised in a small town in East Texas. He has one younger brother and one younger sister. Corey moved to the city to attend college, where he attained a Master's in Business Administration. He has been a Trader for the same brokerage firm for the last 13 years. At home, he enjoys watching The
Simpsons and playing his Play Station. Corey is very loyal and protective of those he loves. He will talk to anyone about sports, and he likes to keep up with current events and politics. He will be a great role model for our children.
Our Home
Our neighborhood is very family oriented with seasonal gatherings, such as the Fall Festival and Ice Cream Social. The neighborhood playground is conveniently located at the bottom of our cul-de-sac. Our home is nestled at the top with a community pond in the back.
The house has four bedrooms, four and a half baths, a study, game room, and a media room upstairs. The nursery has its own full bath and walk-in closet. We cannot wait to start decorating it!
Our Dogs
We have a sweet Boxer named Laila Ali. She is 10 years old, and is great with our nieces and nephew. We rescued Maizy from the shelter. She is a few years old and full of energy. She loves to give kisses.
Family & Friends
We are both very blessed to have loving and supportive extended families. Corey's mom, a Licensed Vocational Nurse, is a self-sacrificing mother and Nana to her two granddaughters. She will undoubtedly continue the spoiling with our children. Corey's brother and four year old daughter live close enough for Marla to help care for her since she was an infant. Corey's sister and two year old daughter live close to his mother, so we visit them a few times a year. Marla has really enjoyed spoiling her six nieces and nephew over the last eight years.
We have a great group of friends. Corey has kept in touch with many of his old
friends from his hometown and college, and we are even godparents to two of their children. Marla has the same best friend from high school, and is fortunate to be Zia (Aunt in Italian) to her two wonderful daughters.
