More About Our Family
|
| Our Special Interests |
We just love being together, whether we’re taking a walk around the neighborhood, cooking dinner together, ballroom dancing (our favorite dances are rumba and swing), dressing up for Halloween (one year Kristin was a rag doll and Darwin was Woody from Toy Story), or working on projects at home.
Our favorite way to relax is to travel together. We’ve seen so many beautiful sights, but the best part is sharing adventures, getting lost and laughing about it! Our favorite place was Venice, Italy, where we hope to go again one day. There are so many interesting places left to see around the U.S. and the world, and we can’t wait to discover them with your child. |
| Our Faith |
We were both raised in Christian (Southern Baptist) homes, but we are more relaxed in our beliefs now. We believe in the golden rule: be kind to others. |
| Our Musical Interest |
Darwin was raised in a very musical family, and they still sing and play instruments together often. Darwin can play the mandolin, bass guitar and harmonica. He listens to all kinds of music, especially bluegrass, 80's music, and classic rock.
Kristin loves music and is addicted to her iPod. Her favorite kinds of music are 1940's Big Band and jazz, classic rock, folk music, and Broadway musicals. She loves going to see musicals and watching movie musicals. Sometimes she can even talk Darwin into seeing them with her. |
| About Our Home |
We live in a white Victorian house in a small Alabama town with many rivers and forests nearby. Our house isn’t perfect, but the imperfections are part of the charm! We’ve done a lot of work on it over the past few years and are very happy here. It’s got plenty of open space for kids to run around – and a big yard, too, with lots of flowering trees.
We share our home with four friendly pets – two dogs and two cats. |

| Future Contact with Birth Family |
We’re flexible about what style of adoption we have. We are very open to sending letters and photos and will happily discuss any thoughts on visitation. If you would prefer a less open adoption, that is okay with us, too - whatever will make you most comfortable and feel the most at peace. Either way, we will always teach your child about how we became a family through adoption and about how special you are to us. |
| Our Promise to You |
Our goal is to raise your child to be compassionate, kind and considerate to others, and open-minded. Your child’s individuality is important to us, and we will make an effort to incorporate your child’s culture into our life. We promise to guide your child to be a good person, to emphasize the importance of education, and to always love him or her with our whole hearts. |
