Dear Birthmother,
Christ be with you! Thank you for opening your heart to our family. We are Dave and Maureen, a lively couple…more than ready to welcome a little boy or girl (or a little boy and a girl) into the family.
About Us
We were married just over ten years ago. We are blessed to have our immediate family so close, and we take full advantage of that fact. As a family, we enjoy camping, all seasonal holidays, and birthdays together. It doesn’t take much arm twisting for a little song and dance to break out.
As parents, we’re very “hands-on.” We like to play tag, hide-and-seek and participate in scooter races with our children and the neighbor kids. We like to take car trips whether it’s just toolin’ around town with mama in search of the perfect loaf of olive bread or going to the beach for the day.
We also have a Spaghetti Feed each year on Maureen’s birthday for our family, friends and neighbors. At least 20 kids attend each year. Throughout the evening, there is a tag game going on around our house.
We married with a shared calling to have a large family. There is no medical reason as to why we haven’t had a baby naturally. We leave everything in the Lord’s hands because Grace, Lucy and little Zane wouldn’t be with us otherwise.
About Maureen (by Dave)
Maureen is a great blessing to me and Mama to our children. We were both fortunate to be raised by “stay-at-home moms” and we want the same for our children. Maureen has made our house into a very loving and comfortable home.
Maureen is a fun “hands-on mama” who likes to play, take walks with our children to school, and each spring plants a garden with them. We have a swing set outside and lots of playroom in our basement for indoor fun.
She was a teacher for ten years before starting our family and continues using those skills to raise our children. Before our children started school, she set up a little “classroom” to build skills and have fun. Today, they use this area to do homework, play various games, build castles with legos, and cook up imaginary feasts in the kitchenette.
About Dave (by Maureen)
Dave is a wonderful man, and I’m so glad I married him. He supports our family as a software engineer, but is the handiest, fix-it-all guy you’ve ever met. Our bathroom was completely redone by Dave in old-style bead-board and tile.
Dave loves God and strives to be the best husband and father he can be. You can be assured that your baby will be able to count on him; he is a devoted, involved, Christian man who believes in protecting the family.
About Our Children
Our girls are sassy, fun-loving, tree-climbing seven year old girls. They are in first grade and on the verge of reading. Maureen used to teach so she loves being in their classroom. We love watching them be big “sisters” to little Zane.
Zane is our heaven sent foster-adopt child. He may be returning to his biological family, or he may be your baby’s big brother. Again, this one is left in the Lord’s hands. He is so loving, and full of fun play.
Our Home
We have always lived in a 1930 blue farmhouse. It has wood floors throughout and lots of old world charm. For those parts of the house that have become too old to charm, we have remodeled to bring back the luster.
On the main floor, we decorated the bedroom next to ours into the cutest baby nursery. The baby’s room is decorated with old fashioned style wood furnishings including a radio flyer fire engine for that first drive. Wooden baby toys line the room and a 1929 picture of Humpty-Dumpty hangs on the wall just above the crib.
Our Faith
Our faith is our guide. We do our best to live by our faith in our everyday lives. Each week, we attend Mass as a family, and we look to God to help strengthen us. We love God and have given our lives to Him. We know, firsthand, through our adoption of Grace and Lucy how families are woven together by God’s love.
We attend church together and raise our children with a joyful love for our Lord. We share a desire for a large family. We hope and pray for this.
In Closing,
We send our love to you. We want you to know that you are in our prayers.
As a family, we live in anticipation of what God has in store for us; we also live out our blessings today.
We’d love to hear from you!
Sincerely,
