Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for this opportunity to introduce ourselves to you. We are looking forward to being parents and we can’t wait to welcome a child into our hearts and home. 

We met eight years ago through friends, and a year later were married in a little wooden chapel tucked away in the snow covered mountains.  We have been best of friends since that first date and love each other more every day.  Whether we are working in our yard, on a road trip, or taking our dogs for a walk, we are happy because we are together.  We are looking forward to sharing our love and our joys with your child. 

A Little More About Us
Donnie is a soldier in the United States Army and Kim teaches seventh grade mathematics at a private Christian school.  We are ready to provide support, encouragement, and opportunities for success for your child.  Additionally, Donnie’s career as a soldier will allow us to provide financially for your child’s college education. 

Our faith has been our guide through many of life’s challenges.  In particular, we have been unable to have a child of our own and we believe that God has led us to adoption.  We are excited about becoming parents and we look forward to sharing our faith and God’s love with your child.  We are members of a small Methodist church.  Our pastor and his family are great friends and are very supportive of our decision to adopt a child. 

Meet Donnie, by Kim
When I think about my hero, I think about Donnie.  I admire his strong work ethic, his devotion to our family, and his walk with our Lord and Savior.  I am his #1 fan!  He is an outstanding soldier and his dedication to the Army is humbling.  Donnie is a NASCAR, Tennessee Volunteers, and Atlanta Braves fan.  He is a history buff and loves trivia.  He would make an excellent contestant on the game show Jeopardy. 

Most of all, Donnie is my best friend.  We are a silly pair together and he is always making me laugh.  He has a childlike heart.  Young people are always drawn to him and his joy for life.  He has much to offer a child and he will be an awesome dad!

Meet Kim, by Donnie
I admire Kim for her overwhelming sense of selfless service, devotion to family and friends, and her unwavering commitment to a walk through this life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Kim enjoys her daily devotions, working out, a good mystery, silly movies, and cooking. 

She loves to cook for others.  Every Christmas, she prepares special treats for her students that she spends hours baking and decorating.  She also provides meals and cookies for wounded soldiers and their families. 

Kim is truly my best friend.  She will be a terrific mom to your child.  She has turned our house into a home; anyone that is invited into our home feels welcomed and knows that they are loved.  I am blessed to be able to share my life with such a remarkable woman, and I am proud to be her husband.

Our Home and Neighborhood
We live in a small town in Alabama and yet, we are close to all that a big city has to offer.  We are a short distance from the beach and the mountains, tourist attractions, and sporting events.

We live in a friendly subdivision with many children.  Families are often outside riding bikes, enjoying a walk, or playing a game of basketball.  Our home is a brick, one level home with four bedrooms and two bathrooms.  We have a bedroom decorated, just waiting to be enjoyed by a little one.  Our yard is enclosed by a privacy fence and is perfect for a swing set, a game of football, or catching butterflies. 

Our family is important to us.  They are very supportive of our decision to adopt a child and are looking forward to welcoming a baby into our family.
