Dear Birthmother,
Nothing thrills us more than becoming parents for the first time! We can’t wait to set our eyes on the beautiful child God has created, and bring lots of love, faith, hugs, kisses and laughter into his or her life. We thank God that through our struggles with infertility He has blessed us with the gift of adoption.
Having met right after high school, we were college sweethearts and married two years after graduating. We have known each other for over 12 years, and have been happily married for almost seven years!
Our Life Together
We live near the beach in a safe, quiet neighborhood in Southern California. Our cozy three-bedroom home has a park-like backyard with large trees perfect for a swing and plenty of room to play. Several young children live nearby and one of our wonderful neighbors is even a police officer!
Living near the coast provides us with plenty of opportunities to explore wetland trails, visit the dog beach, cruise bike paths and go boating with family and friends. Creating new memories on trips together is one of our favorite pastimes, as well as game nights, movie nights together at home and breakfasts at our favorite little café near the beach. Our sweet little cocker spaniel, Lady, makes our house fun to come home to! Children love her because she is so gentle, playful and affectionate.
Meet My Wife, Carrie
Carrie has a Master’s in Education and was a fourth grade teacher for five years before deciding to stay home and focus on being a wife, mother, freelance web/graphic designer and volunteer at church. Her spunkiness and contagious laugh are balanced with an extraordinary concern for others.
She continues to put her intelligence and professional background to use by heading a church tutoring outreach, teaching ladies’ and children’s Bible classes and directing Vacation Bible School each year. Her passion for teaching is combined with a unique talent that enables her to connect with children. She enjoys decorating, being active and nutrition. She is committed to providing a lifestyle in our home that is healthy for the body, mind and soul.
Meet My Husband, Eric
Eric is a man after God’s own heart and truly my best friend. He is a perfect combination of goofiness and seriousness, manliness and sensitivity to others. He is incredibly intelligent and creative, yet humble and gentle. People are drawn to him because he genuinely cares and has wisdom beyond his years.
He loves fishing, boating, camping and playing sports, especially basketball. He has been incredibly successful in his career as associate publisher for a magazine publisher, and clients love his work ethic, integrity and friendly demeanor. He will be an excellent father leading his family closer to God and providing a fun, stable home.
Our Family
We both grew up in very close-knit families, and are doubly blessed because we love our in-laws! Eric’s sister’s family lives within 15 minutes, and we, along with his parents, attend the same church. Eric’s father and brother-in-law are both associate ministers. We love spending time together barbecuing and swimming. Each summer we enjoy a week together in Lake Tahoe boating, wake boarding and jet skiing.
Carrie is the only child in her family, but enjoys a special closeness with her parents and has several cousins. We are grateful to have her parents and grandparents living within 15 minutes. Since Carrie’s mom is a homemaker, she will be readily available to help when we bring a baby home.
Holidays are very special to us, since all our immediate and extended family live nearby. Thanksgiving and Christmas are our favorites, and we have strong traditions, including a crazy grab bag game each Christmas Eve “Eve.” We love bundling up and taking a Christmas boat ride every year to see impressive light displays in nearby harbors.
Our Faith
Your child will be raised in a committed Christian home attending Bible classes and church regularly, and receiving a quality private education. We believe in putting the Lord first in all that we do, and training up our children to understand the love of Jesus Christ. Our greatest desire is that our children grow into thriving and God-loving adults.
Our Promise to You
Our commitment to the Lord, marriage and keeping Carrie a stay-at-home mom will ensure that your child receives all the love, nurture and opportunities that two parents can provide.
