Providing the Support You Need In Choosing Your Child's Future Help and Support for Pregnant Women

Adoptive parents, Gary and Ena

from Mississippi

We are choosing to adopt a child because:
We only have one daughter and she has consistently asked for brothers and sisters for over three years. Though we have not been able to give her a biological sibling, we know that families can be expanded in other ways. So, we are embarking on this journey to share our lives with another child. We are eager to laugh, cuddle and comfort, teach and help with homework, play and take family trips with another child.

The things that make our family special and unique are:
We are very close to our extended family and friends. Many of Ena’s relatives attend the church where we worship weekly, thus your baby will enjoy aunts, uncles and cousins all the time. Ena’s parents are excited with the idea of getting more grandchildren, because we all miss having a baby around. Most Sundays we gather at Ena’s parents for dinner after church with her sister, brother and nieces and nephew. Gary has a brother and sister-in-law with two children and a cousin who was raised like a brother.  They are very important parts of our lives and are supportive of our efforts to expand the family.

The things we look forward to sharing with a child are:
We can provide a warm, loving, and structured Christian home for your child. Education and extracurricular activities are very important to us. We also enjoy spending time at home talking, singing and playing instruments with each other. We have a group of close friends and often have gatherings, backyard cookouts where the children enjoy playing on the swing set, kicking the soccer ball and other games.

Other members of our family eager to welcome a child are:
Our daughter, Ane’ is a healthy, active, sweet-natured, inquisitive second grader. She enjoys soccer, which has become our main sporting activity for the past three years. Ane’ also takes Spanish classes and piano lessons weekly. However, her most favorite activity is Friday movie night where it is just her mom and dad sitting on the couch next to her. All in all, she is a very happy child who is fascinated by babies. She has already determined where a baby would sleep in our house and which duties she is willing to help us do. She is eager to one day claim the coveted title of “big sister.”
