Adoptive parents, Gary and Sonia-Maria

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time to read about us. Due to infertility, we’ve turned to adoption to build our family. We adopted our son Evan through Lifetime Adoption when he was four years old. Our hearts are filled with joy as we anticipate sharing our lives with another precious child.

Gary and Sonia-Maria love music and are teaching Evan to play the piano and steel drumAbout Us
We're a Christian couple who have been married for ten years. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and we’re looking forward to sharing all we have with another child.

We like to travel, laugh, share meals, and spend time with family and friends. Our lives have blossomed since we adopted our son, Evan. He’s six years old and full of energy and curiosity.

Sonia-Maria is beautiful, smart, compassionate, and has a great sense of humor. She's a very strong Christian and is a great mother to our son Evan. Sonia-Maria loves spending time with him, looking for lady bugs, cuddling, reading and teaching him to play the steelpan. She's constantly searching for ways to make learning fun.

Sonia-Maria loves being a stay-at-home mom! Sonia-Maria has a B.A. in Literature and was formerly a high school English teacher. While Evan is at Royal Rangers (the Christian alternative to Boy Scouts) on Wednesday evenings, she takes care of babies and toddlers at the church. She is very organized, and is an avid reader. She takes pride in her appearance and always schedules time for exercise. Sonia-Maria loves to cook and she cooks very well!

Gary is a great role model and father to Evan!My Husband, Gary
Gary is my best friend and makes me feel like the most important person in the world. He has the gifts of patience, creativity, intelligence, and compassion. Gary has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He's worked in Information Technology for 24 years and currently works for a major telecommunications company as a software engineer.

Gary enjoys playing basketball, walking, and rollerblading, and watching British soccer. He sings bass in our church choir and he plays the piano and guitar. He performs in church productions as a singer, stage actor, voice actor, narrator, and announcer.

Gary is a great role model for Evan! They like to go to the park to play ball, watch the TV show “How It’s Made,” look at wristwatches, and wrestle with each other.

Evan is a special blessing who came to us through Lifetime Adoption!  We prayed for a miracle and God gave us this happy, energetic, little boy with a big smile! He loves to dance, sing, and try on daddy’s shoes and shirts. He enjoys amusement park rides and feeding the ducks at the park. Evan can’t wait to have a baby brother or sister; his easy-going, cheerful manner will make him a special big brother.

Our Faith
Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our marriage and our family, and we enjoy serving in our Assembly of God church and participating in a small home group. We believe that faith in Jesus begins at home, and we actively teach and model God's love to Evan.

Gary and Sonia-Maria's home in CaliforniaOur Home and Community
We live in a cozy two-story home, near the end of a cul-de-sac. We have a large, fenced, backyard, and several parks and schools are nearby. We have two cats and a friendly black Labrador. All of our pets love Evan, and he can’t wait to share them with his new brother or sister.

Our Family, Friends, and Traditions
Our family and friends are very important to us. Our extended family is excited and supportive of our future family plans. They love Evan and can’t wait to share their lives with another child. We love family time, and our digital camera gets a workout, because we like to remind ourselves of our joyful times.

Sonia-Maria and Gary unconditionally love and cherish your childOur Promise to You
