Hi, we’re Henry and Jen. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to meet our first child through adoption. We’re excited about becoming parents, eager to share our love with a child and can’t wait to provide a nurturing, fun home.  We appreciate you taking the time to learn more about us.

About Us
We’ve been married for eleven years and best friends since the time we met in college. We have a blessed life together and desire to share those blessings with children. After several miscarriages, faith and prayer led us to adoption.

We were raised in Christian homes and attend a Methodist church. We’ll raise your child in a Christian home with plenty of love, attention, and guidance. We will demonstrate responsibility, independence and God’s love.  To learn even more about us, click here.

About Henry, by Jen
God designed Henry for me. Henry is low-key and calm but determined. He looks for the best in everyone and every situation. Henry taught alongside me for four years and the students loved him. He took his compassion and need to serve to another level by becoming a professional firefighter. This job suits him perfectly. He continues to dedicate time to the local volunteer fire department, community and church.  Henry’s an intelligent thinker and hysterically funny. He lives for the moment and doesn’t worry about everyday messes because they’re not what life’s really about. Henry’s huge heart will make him a fantastic dad who will instill the most important values: faith, patience, love and generosity.

About Jen, by Henry
My wife’s my closest friend and has made me a better person. Jen’s a very caring person with a wonderful way of understanding people’s problems. She’s resilient, thoughtful, clever, and hardworking. We had the wonderful opportunity to work together as teachers in the classroom. She cares about each student by instilling in them the knowledge that they can succeed. Jen made me stronger by encouraging me to become what I am today. This is what she does for her students and will do for our children. She’ll teach them responsibility, compassion, self-determination and independence. Jen will be a great mom. We’d consider it an honor if your child went to school right alongside Jen.

Our Faith
God comes first in our family. We teach a middle grades Sunday school class together and attend Bible studies. After Jen’s father passed away in 2004, we took over the job as church custodians. We consider it an honor to serve God in this way. We would encourage our children to be involved in church.

Our Home
We live in a small, mountainous community in North Carolina on a large lot of land surrounded by nature. We live among national forest and near a large lake so there are plenty of outdoors activities to do. We have lots of outdoor space to run and play. Family activities include growing vegetables and working on home projects such as building a greenhouse and barn.

Our house is two-stories with three bedrooms and bathrooms. We have lots of open space to play. We have a nursery that’s right near the master bedroom. Several porches allow us to relax in the outdoors in all kinds of weather.
           
Our Families
Everyone is excited and supportive of our plans to adopt. We both have brothers with families who we love to spend time with. We’re very close to them. We’re also extremely close to our parents. Henry’s parents can’t wait to make special visits just to baby sit. Jen’s mom and grandmother live very close by and we attend the same church. Between my summers off as a teacher, Henry’s job as a firefighter and Jen’s mom being semi-retired, we’ve got baby sitting covered. Our closest friends blessed us with being Godparents to their two children.

Kitty, our cat, and Buddy and Honey, our dogs, are important members of our family. Your child will experience instant companionship through our loving pets.
