Dear Birthmother,

Hi! We are Jason and Jody. Thank you for considering us as the adoptive family for your child. We have been married for 10 years and adopted our first child, Maria, in 2005. After issues with fertility adoption was a very easy decision for us since Jody was adopted.

Our Life Together
We met in college, married shortly after, and became excited to become parents. We are natives to the Midwest but moved to the east coast to enjoy the sun and sand.

As a family, we enjoy the beach, parks and kid-friendly events. We enjoy playing outside, riding bikes, swimming, and spending time with our friends. We are avid sports fans of college basketball and Major League Baseball.

We both plan to take time off after the adoption and when we return to work, Jody will work from home part time via the hospital’s telecommuting option. In addition, Jason is off for three months in the summer and this means our children will have a stay-at-home dad.

During the week, our daughter currently stays with a friend who watches other children and Maria really enjoys playing with her friends.

Our Home
Our home is a two-story house located next to a large, nice park and just a short walk from the beach. Our community has a lighthouse, parks, YMCA, library, miles of beach, local art galleries, family days, movie nights, cookouts, and fireworks.

My Wife, Jody
Jody is a loving, caring, outgoing, and intelligent wife and mom. Whether it’s making sure Maria’s day-to-day needs are met, teaching her new things, playing, singing or going the extra mile to make sure Maria has the ultimate Halloween costume, she shows how much she loves being a mom.

Jody is a Human Resources Manager at a local hospital. She volunteers in our small town. Most of Jody’s free time is spent with Maria but when she does have time, she enjoys shopping, acting in the community theater, home decorating and spending time with friends.

My Husband, Jason
I met Jason when he drove me home from college. My parents grounded me for taking a ride with a stranger. These days my family loves the guy who got me grounded, grew up to be my husband, a wonderful father, a high school teacher, city council member, avid surfer, and my best friend.

Jason has done everything for Maria since day one including diapers, over night feedings, bath time, and more.

Jason is a high school teacher for advanced placement students. He has coached soccer, tennis, and the “mock-trial” teams. Jason is a self-taught surfer and guitar player. He loves to read, cook, hike, and hang out with friends.

Our Daughter, Maria
We arrived at the hospital to meet Maria just two hours after her birth. Maria is full of energy, giggles, and loves to play!

Maria is happy about becoming a big sister. We read to Maria every day and we share, through children’s books, her adoption story.

Our Family & Friends
Our family and friends are excited about our decision to adopt again. Jody’s parents have been married for over 40 years and can’t wait for another grandchild. She and her brother, Jeff were adopted.

Jason’s family consists of his dad and step-mom who have been married more than 15 years. Jason has three sisters, one brother, two brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law. Family is very important to us and both sets of our parents visit often.

Many of our friends have children and we enjoy being a part of their lives. Needless to say, your child will share in the love and friendships that we count as our blessings.

We realize through our personal experience that adoption is a very selfless gift of love that you are giving to your child. Jody always knew she was adopted and we plan to make sure your child knows his or her individual story too.
