Thank you for taking the time to consider being a part of our dream come true! We are thrilled God has given us this opportunity to pursue adoption and look forward to sharing our love, home, time, talents and values with a child.

About Us
Our faith is very important to us. We first met at church and continue to be involved in ministries in a Baptist church. We seek to daily live out our beliefs.

We share a passion for music. Penney's voice has been described as "that of an angel;" Jay gave his first piano concert while still in high school. We enjoy giving concerts and were thrilled to record a CD.

About Penney (from Jay)
Jay sees Penney as the love of his life and his best friend. Penney is a woman of character, integrity, and intellect, and is a highly respected clinical social worker. Despite her success, she longs to cut back her hours to stay at home with a baby.

Penney appreciates her quiet times and loves to read. She's deeply committed to her faith, husband, family and friends, and is always willing to put others' needs before her own.

Penney is great with babies and children and is going to be an outstanding mother! She has so much love to offer as well as a professional understanding of child development.

About Jay (from Penney)
Penney describes Jay as remarkable. He is also her best friend and the love of her life. He has a master's degree and teaches upper-level mathematics for advanced students. He's won two national teaching awards. His students love him; his colleagues respect him. He enjoys working with students and assists with the math team and chorus.

Jay plays piano, directs our church choir and holiday musicals, serves on our church Board, and is involved in planning worship services. He has a strong work ethic and keeps his commitments. Jay is a wonderful role-model and will be a gifted father.

Our Hobbies and Interests
We like to travel together. We've visited Nova Scotia, Germany, Washington D.C. and several states. We look forward to future trips to "child-friendly" destinations.

We play racquet sports and like to watch them, both in person and on TV. We enjoy movies, playing cards, and visiting with friends.

Sunday evenings we traditionally get drive through, change into pajamas, and eat dinner while watching TV. We cherish that time together before the start of each week. Birthdays and holidays come with traditions including gatherings with our extended families, who will lovingly welcome any addition to our family with open arms.

Our Home and Neighborhood
We live in Jay's childhood home in Maine. It has four levels including a finished basement with game room, an attic bedroom and lots of space for kids to play. We enjoy the formal dining room, working fireplaces in the den and formal living room, and multiple staircases. We are beginning to decorate the large nursery with new paint, a Noah's Ark border, and the rainbow quilt Penney designed and created.

The outside of our home is well-suited for a family and a fun place to be; we look forward to enjoying our large yard for family play time. There are several huge oak trees. We're a ten minute walk from the center of our small town, and close to our church and Penney's office.

Our Family and Friends
We are blessed to have supportive families nearby. Jay's mom lives a block away and Penney's mom lives in the next town. Jay's brother and his family (including two adopted children) live just a few miles down the road and we see each other regularly.

Other extended family includes Jay's brother in Massachusetts and Penney's sister and nephew (whom she adores) in New Hampshire. We have regular contact with these family members via email, calls and visits.

We enjoy spending time with our friends and their children. Penney sings in a trio with two friends and we three couples get together regularly for dinner and cards.

In Closing
