Dear Birthmother,
We are both delighted and excited to share a little bit about our lives with you! We have been together for over 15 years and have been happily married for the last nine. We always knew that we wanted to have children. When we found out that Dana could not carry a child to term, we decided to adopt. This will be our first child to love and spoil. We are having so much fun shopping for the crib and decorating the nursery!
About Us
We met in college, when Jim was studying Economics, and Dana was studying Nursing. We both love to travel, having gone on Caribbean cruises, to New England, and to Las Vegas just to name a few trips. We are huge baseball fans. We love to go to ball games together.
We have an annual family event where we all go to St. Louis and watch the Astros play the Cardinals at Busch Stadium!
We also enjoy going to the movies and out to eat at least once a month. We go to our local gym together. We enjoy grilling and having picnics in the park in the spring and summer. At night we love to search for an open ice cream shop.
About Jim
I fell for Jim head over heels when I met him in college. He is smart, good-looking, raised Catholic, and a “southern gentleman!” Attached to him was a huge extended family. He may have been an only child, but he had a caring mother and six aunts and uncles, with eight cousins to make up for it. He is always the first person to offer to help anyone. He even decided to keep his old pick-up truck because he said that someone might need him to move something for them. So he just could not bring himself to get rid of it.
Jim brings humor and fun to the other economics professors. He is a positive example to his younger cousins, to our friends’ children, and to his co-workers’ children. Jim plays on a softball team and a flag football team made up of his friends and co-workers, and I’m his best fan!!
He reaches out to all of his loved ones. He still sends birthday cards to everyone in his family and even bought his mother a family cell phone to keep in closer touch since she lives out of town. At a recent party, everyone’s children flocked to Jim to show their toys. He is just a big kid at heart when he’s playing sports or games. He has a gift with kids. He is going to be a great dad!
About Dana
Dana is a wonderful wife. She is attractive, understanding, was also raised Catholic, and can cook anything!
She has such a loving heart when it comes to children. She even volunteers at a camp for children with arthritis. She enjoys being with the children, and they love her. Dana is an RN, but she has chosen not to work and instead to become a stay-at-home mom! She volunteers twice a week as a counselor for birthmothers at a nearby pregnancy center.
Christmas and Halloween are her favorite holidays. She enjoys decorating the tree, and she can’t wait to share this magical time with a child. At Halloween, she loves to see the children come to the door with their costumes. She can’t wait to dress up our child and share this fun day as well. She will be such a great mom!
Our Faith
God is the center of our lives. We attend a large Catholic church near our home and were both raised and married Catholic. We both attend Mass every Sunday and holidays. We are very spiritual outside of the Church and believe we should love others as God loves us. We cannot wait to share our faith with our baby.
Our Home
We live in a huge two bedroom apartment near Atlanta in a top school district. There are tennis courts and two pools. We have two senior dogs, Cookie and Max, who love to play with kids. Cookie and Max really love our neighborhood! There are lots of children for them to play with. There are lots of beautiful areas to take walks. It is a huge complex and a very spacious apartment home!
Our Promise to You
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! Jim is a professor, so he has a very flexible schedule. Dana currently stays home, although she is a Registered Nurse. Therefore, there will be no daycare needed! We are open to sending letters, photos and possibly sharing visits. Contact
