Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking time to get to know us.  We have been married for over 10 years and live in Texas with our daughter, Brooke and dog, Ginger.  Unexplained infertility recently led us to adoption as the means of growing our family.  We completely trust God, knowing there is a special child waiting to join our family – how exciting!  We are so looking forward to sharing our life and love with another child.

About Us   
We have a solid marriage, having the same ideas about finances, faith, parenting and morals and values.  We support each other in our work and personal interests, keeping in mind we are individuals as well as a couple. 

Our Christian faith is the foundation of our life and relationships with others.  We regularly attend church as well as small group meetings twice a month with some of our closest friends.

About Stephanie                   
I have made my career in the accounting field for the last 12 years.  While I like my job, I love much, much more being a wife and mother.  I thoroughly enjoy finding fun, creative ways to teach a little one all about life, whether it is about nature, our bodies, or food we eat; it’s fun to teach and explore with them. 

Some of my hobbies include reading mystery novels and traveling with John and Brooke, however, my favorite is scrapbooking.  I know that my family will forever cherish the visible legacy of our family life and all the special moments along the way.

About John
I have worked at a consulting firm for over 10 years as a civil engineer.  To give back to the community and especially the kids, I volunteer at the middle school career day and engineering math competition.  I encourage the kids about the importance of school and trying to make a career out of their favorite hobbies, such as I did.

I like to spend my free time either playing golf with my church buddies or at the lake, boating or water skiing with our family.  My favorite times with Brooke are playing at the park and reading books at bedtime.

About Brooke
Brooke is almost four years old and we are so excited for her to become a big sister – or “stister” as she says it!  Some words to describe Brooke include sweet, active, funny and intelligent.  She absolutely loves being outdoors as well as helping mommy in the kitchen, either making jello or muffins. 

Brooke attends a Christian preschool, where she enjoys participating in all the fun school activities, like crazy hair day, silly sock day, disco day, etc. as well as the holiday parties.  She is definitely not one to turn down a good party where there’s a chance of scoring some candy or cupcakes!

Our Home and Extended Family
We live in Texas, in a four bedroom, two and a half bath home within walking distance of a park.  Our parents live within driving distance and we see them on a regular basis at holidays, for family birthday dinners and other special occasions. 

During the summer months, we spend a lot of weekends at the family lake house, relaxing and having fun on the boat and doing various water activities.

Our Activities and Traditions
We cherish our time together as a family.  We spend our time playing board games, reading books, going to the zoo or water park, going out for ice cream and having breakfast for dinner! 

At the holidays, we teach the true meaning of Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas but we also look forward to the fun stuff like getting messy while coloring Easter eggs, and seeing fireworks at July 4th.  In the fall we visit the pumpkin patch, and Christmas time means getting to visit Santa and digging into our stockings, full of goodies.

In Closing
We commit to loving your child unconditionally, raising them in a home full of laughter, stability, security and most important, learning about the love of God.  We would be humbled and honored to parent your child, keeping you informed about him or her all along the way via pictures and letters if you so desire. Also, we look forward to teaching them about you and the extra special way they came to be part of our family.
