Dear Birthmother,
We are so excited that you are taking the time to read about us! Since our first date, we have talked about our desire to have a family. We have both always known we want to have children, and planned to start our family as soon as we were married. After struggling with infertility for three years, we became pregnant with our first child, David Paul, but lost him shortly after his birth to a congenital heart defect. We have become closer through this tragic event, and look forward to continuing our family through adoption.
About Us
We truly enjoy each other's company and can't wait to share our love and experiences with a child. We love to travel anyplace we can experience nature, including national parks and tropical islands. In our home town we like to visit the zoo, go on nature hikes with our dogs, and relax at home in our backyard.
Josh's work experience and Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences has come in handy while we landscape our backyard. This has been an ongoing project we take pride in. Every year we also plant a vegetable garden and enjoy fresh produce throughout the summer. Our dream is to some day build our own energy efficient home.
We really enjoy our home, but we also love to take road trips. One of our favorites was camping in Yellowstone National Park. We are looking forward to returning with our child and letting him/her experience the wonders of God's creation.
Our two dogs, Roman and Rusty came to us from the local Humane Society. We are committed to supporting the shelter because it finds homes for all the animals, no matter how long it takes. Both dogs are very friendly and great with kids.
About Josh, from Stephanie
Before I met Josh, I didn't think men like him existed. He is very generous and thoughtful, is wonderful at taking care of me, and always makes me laugh. Josh is also the hardest worker I've ever known. He's great at building things, can fix almost anything, and is definitely a do-it-yourself-er. His skills include anything from building bookshelves and birdhouses to installing hardwood floors in our home.
Josh does so many little caring things, without ever expecting anyone to notice. I've seen him stop the car, move a turtle out of the road, and return it to safety, and pickup baby birds that have fallen and put them back in their nest. Boy Scouts were a big part of his life while growing up, and Josh has volunteered as a leader with a local troop. I know he will be a very loving and involved father.
About Stephanie, from Josh
Stephanie has been my rock throughout our marriage. She is my best friend and my love for her grows each day. I am a very lucky man to have found such a loving and caring partner. She is a wonderful listener whom everyone knows they can confide in. She is very loyal and helpful to family and friends and constantly surprises me with her willingness to jump in and help.
Although Stephanie has a college degree in History, she is looking forward to being a stay at home mom. Keeping her family healthy is important to my wife and she enjoys coming up with and preparing new, healthy recipes that also taste great. She plans meals and family dinners, decorates our home for the holidays, and makes sure we take fun vacations several times a year. Stephanie believes learning is a life long process and loves to read. She can't wait to include a child in these activites.
Our Home
We chose our four bedroom home, located in the suburbs of a large city in Missouri, knowing it would have plenty of room for a growing family. We love the openness of our kitchen, dining, and living rooms because it makes it easy to spend time together. Our family room is the perfect place to curl up and watch a movie. We have even been decorating the baby's room for months!
Our large, fenced backyard has plenty of room for children to play and for us to build a swing set someday. A city park adjoins our neighborhood, and is only about a five minute walk from our house. The park has a swimming pool, walking trail, baseball fields, tennis courts, and a playground.
Our Promise to You and Your Baby
Your child will be loved unconditionally and given the encouragement and support in life to be the best at whatever he or she chooses to be. We would like to keep in touch through letters, photos, and possibly visits, but are open to whatever level of contact you are comfortable with. We have been praying that God will guide you as you make your decision. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us.
