Adoptive parents, Keith and Kara

Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. We have been blessed with a nurturing marriage, a joyful daughter, and supportive friends and family. We love being parents and can't wait to welcome another child into our home through the blessing of adoption.

Keith and Kara like to travel and explore new placesAbout Us
We have been happily married for 12 years. Together we like to hike, kayak, and entertain family and friends.  We also like to travel, and we want to pass our love of exploring new places on to our children.  Some of our favorite places to explore together are San Francisco, Colorado, North Carolina, and the Oregon coast.

Six years ago we were blessed with our daughter, Kennedy, and parenting has become our greatest joy.  We’ve always planned to raise more than one child, but we’ve gone through miscarriages and infertility along the way.  We can’t wait to welcome another child through adoption.

We are committed to helping our children grow into kind, honest, and caring people who are tolerant and respectful of others.  We look forward to being involved in our children’s schools by volunteering in their classrooms and helping with homework, and we think it’s important to help them find activities they love outside of school, too.

Keith and Kara enjoy spending time together as a familyFamily Time
Our favorite Saturday mornings are spent relaxing at home and being silly together as a family.  On snowy winter days we like to build snowmen or make snow angels in our yard.  In the summer we enjoy day-trips to beautiful Lake Tahoe beaches and trails.

Our families and friends are waiting with open arms to welcome a new baby.  We get together regularly for picnics, barbeques, and to celebrate holidays and special occasions.  When our families are together, we have fun playing all types of games, from Go Fish and Charades to friendly games of touch football and hide and seek.

Keith is the best dad ever!About Keith, by Kara
Keith is outgoing, has a great sense of humor, and has been blessed with a gift for communicating with others.  He is interested in learning about all sorts of things, and sometimes he surprises me with facts about history, airplanes, politics, music, and psychology.

Keith is a kid at heart and loves to get down on the floor or go out in the yard to play.  He and Kennedy play everything from soccer to Star Wars together.  He volunteers to coach her softball and soccer teams and loves every minute of the time he spends with the kids on the field.

Keith teaches psychology at our local high school and students often tell me how lucky they’ve been to have him as a teacher.  His school schedule means he is home with our family each afternoon and all summer long.

Kara enjoys making fun, creative cakesAbout Kara, by Keith
Kara loves being a mom.  She patiently reads children’s books, sings songs, and answers questions over and over, and she makes up creative new stories and games with Kennedy on a daily basis.

Some of their favorite things to do together are pretending to be princesses or jungle animals and baking (pumpkin-chocolate chip bread is their specialty!).  Kara volunteers in Kennedy’s kindergarten class, and she loves the opportunity to help out at school.

In her spare time, Kara likes to run, read, and play volleyball.  She also likes to experiment with cake decorating and new scrapbooking ideas.

Kara works part-time as a nurse practitioner at our local hospital.  Her work schedule allows for plenty of time at home with Kennedy, and soon with another child too.  Kennedy has a delightful imagination

About Kennedy
Kennedy is an active and outgoing six year old who has a ready smile and a non-stop imagination.  She’s been singing, dancing, and story-telling around our house ever since she could walk and talk.  She is so excited about becoming a big sister!

Our Home
We live in a small, family-friendly community near Lake Tahoe.  There are great schools, parks, and friends within walking distance of our home.
