Dear Birthmother,

Greetings from Georgia!!! We thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family and considering us as parents for your child. We have shared 10 amazingly wonderful years together and will celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary this spring. We have always dreamt of raising a family together. We truly believe that we all find the right path when we listen to our hearts. We hope the story that follows gives you a peek into our life and you will feel that we are the right family to raise and love your child.

The Story of Us
We met in the fall of 1997 while Mark was serving in the United States Army and Acacia was a college student, training in Army ROTC. As a couple, we are lucky to have found that enduring challenging times together, as well as cherishing wonderful moments, has made our marriage and our friendship stronger. Our marriage is based on love, honesty, friendship and respect.

Mark has two children, Brittni, 19 years old and Mark Jr., 16 years old, from a previous marriage. Both Brittni and Mark are very excited about expanding our family through adoption and are ready to take on the roles as big sister and big brother.

A Closer Look at Mark
Ten years ago, I met the most talented, confident, beautiful man that I had ever seen. The first thing I learned about him was that his love for his children surpasses all else. Mark honorably served 20 years in the United States Army before retiring and preparing himself for his most challenging role to date: a stay-at-home dad!!!

Mark is a wonderful father to Brittni and Mark and has always put them first in his life. He lives by the parenting philosophy of “making my children better than me.” He has always stressed the importance of a solid education, not being afraid to try something new.

Mark is truly a kid at heart and is always trying to make everyone around him laugh. He seems to have a magic touch with our nieces, nephews and god-children, always being the only one who can get them to fall asleep, take their bottle or pacifier, or stop their tears.

My husband is truly my best friend; the only person who can make me laugh in the midst of sorrow, who knows the right words to say to calm my fears, and who knows me just as well (if not better!) as I know myself.

A Closer Look at Acacia
Acacia is a truly remarkable and selfless woman. In between working, going to school, helping her sister with her homework, playing Guitar Hero with Mark Jr, cooking, and cleaning, she still finds time to plan family gatherings and events. She is the rock of our family; the one person that everyone turns to for guidance, comfort and support. She loves having a house full of family and the bond that she shares with her oldest sisters is one that I have never witnessed before.

Acacia is constantly challenging herself academically and feels that she can never know enough. You will always find her with her head in a book or on the internet conducting research! She currently holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and is actively pursuing a career in medicine.

Our Home/Neighborhood
We live in Georgia, a state full of culture, diversity and history. We own a newly constructed four bedroom/three bath home on a quiet street in suburban area of a medium-sized city.

Our community is a very close-knit one and we have several “community gatherings” planned throughout the year. We live in one of the fastest growing counties in Georgia.

Our Family
Georgia is home to Acacia’s family and we are very fortunate to have her mother and two older sisters around. Acacia has five sisters. Mark Sr. is the youngest of three boys and his brothers and parents reside in Maryland. Everyone is supportive of our plans and they are waiting anxiously for a new bundle (or bundles!) of love to enrich the family further.
