Dear Birthmother,

We appreciate you considering us adoptive parents. We are Mark & Jannice and are looking forward to welcoming a new little child into our family.

We have been happily married for more than 15 years, and have built a strong and trusting relationship. After years of infertility, we were blessed with the adoption of a baby boy, Austin, who is now five years old!

We love being parents, and having a child has enriched our lives in so many ways. We want to share our lives with more children, loving, teaching, and guiding them.

We both grew up in large families, and our parents and extended family live nearby. We enjoy big birthday parties, holidays, and picnics together. Our families were very excited to welcome Austin into the family, and can't wait to celebrate the addition of another child. Austin is always delighted to play with his cousins at Grandpa's house.

Where we live...
We love the peacefulness of our farm, which is located in a quiet, country community with very friendly neighbors.

We own our own house and also have cows and two commercial catfish ponds. Our home is wonderful and open, great for relaxing and playing.

The yard is cozy with trees around it. There's a nice lawn big enough for children to run and play in the open space. We have a sandbox, a trampoline, and a swing set for the children.

Austin loves to ride around the farm on our sweet and gentle horse, Mollie. We also have a cat who loves to be held and petted.

We like to hike to the back of our farm and spend time together along the creek, enjoying the sounds of the water rippling, the birds chirping, and the squirrels chattering. It makes you want to stay and enjoy nature!

About Mark...
Mark is an understanding and caring person. He is a big-hearted daddy, whether he is reading, flying a kite, playing ball, or playing games with Austin and other children. Mark likes taking Austin along to feed the cows, horse, and fish.

Mark is in partnership with a lawn care business. He has a good relationship with his employees and customers. He enjoys ATV-riding and cooking-out with friends, and makes friends easily!

About Jannice...
Jannice is loving and considerate. She enjoys being a full-time mommy, and always has time to read, play, and sing to Austin. She does some sewing and loves being outside with the garden, yard, and flowers. She enjoys canning vegetables, and is a wonderful cook.

Before Jannice became a mommy, she worked in health care with babies and children. She finds it rewarding spending time with friends and family.

About Austin...
Austin is happy, outgoing, and active. It has been wonderful to watch him grow and learn new things! He loves to go with Daddy to catch fish. He loves story time, and can hardly wait to start school. Jannice has been teaching him to write his name, the ABC's, and to count. He loves to play outdoors and socialize with other children. He is so sweet with babies and will be a wonderful big brother!

Things we do as a family...
Hiking, swimming, and spending time together on the farm is fun! Family is important to us, so we attend family reunions in both Missouri and Kansas.

We enjoy exploring new places, and one winter we drove across Canada, visiting family and friends along the way. We enjoy all of the seasons. Mark likes to snow-ski and is already teaching Austin. As a family tradition, each year we take Austin to the zoo for his birthday.

Our faith...
Our church and faith are important to us. We are Christians and are involved in a lot of activities with the church. Our church family is excited about us adopting! We have chosen a good Christian school for the children to attend, with wonderful and caring teachers. We feel that a good education is very important for our children.
