Adoptive parents, Marshall and Christie

Dear Birthmother,

We are Marshall and Christie and we are happy to share with you our dreams of adopting children.

We have been married for 15 years and built a great life together, continuing to give each other the support needed to accomplish all of our goals in life. Due to infertility we pursed an adoption plan, adopting our son Allen Paul. We would like to continue our journey of building our family through a second adoption.

Marshall and Christie enjoy travelingMarshall is a High School PE Teacher and Head Baseball Coach. He enjoys his job and the opportunity to work with young people. Christie was an elementary school teacher in a public school. She taught school for 12 years until becoming a Principal of a public school with over 800 students. Teaching children and being parents are one of life's most rewarding tasks for us!

Some of our family interests include traveling, entertaining guests and family, attending sporting events, and cooking. Marshall loves baseball, golf, and relaxing with a western or history movie. Christie is very creative in decorating, sewing, music, cooking, and photography.

About Our Families
We both have extended families that provide support in our desire to adopt children. Christie has one brother, two sisters, 7 nieces and nephews and several cousins. There are 8 sets of twins in her family! Her parents are wonderful people and live close by. Marshall has one sister, one brother, one step-brother (adopted) and 5 nephews (1 adopted) and 1 niece. We are truly a family built on traditions. Because Marshall's family lives farther away, we get to spend summer months and holidays with them.

Allen Paul entered our lives at 2 months old. We love parenting him! For the first two years, he stayed home with Christie each day and enjoyed playgroups with other kids and moms. He now attends the preschool at Christie's school which allows for her to peak in from time to time and have lunch together. We have set up a college fund and savings account for him, as we want our children to understand the importance of education. Once our children are of school age, we will decide which education environment (public or private) is the best for that individual child's needs. Our public schools are one of the top districts in the state.

Our public schools are one of the top districts in the state and we both support the Catholic schools as well.

Our Home and Community
Our home is a simple 4 bedroom home with plenty of room to ride bikes, run around, or relax. There are always children riding bikes with pets following behind them in our neighborhood, which is very friendly and family oriented. It is not uncommon to see a campfire built on a weekend night roasting marshmallows and hot dogs or kids on our driveway shooting basketballs. We are located in a rural area Home in Louisianaoutside of the city limits, but easy access to lots of fun. Our city is close to Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

We also have a home nestled in the woods of Mississippi where it is a great retreat for cricket listening, hunting, fishing, and family unwinding. The sunsets are incredible!

Our Church
We practice our faith within the Catholic church. Each weekend we attend mass as a family to worship together. Our favorite part of the mass is The Lord's Prayer. We hold Allen's hand and kiss him during the sign of peace. Each time we attend church; we light a candle for Allen's birthparents. Prayer at night is also an important part of our rituals before we go to sleep.

Our Pet
We have a mixed breed dog that we rescued from the shelter named Homer, short for homerun. He is groomed each month and lives in luxury! We adore him and so does Allen He is very tolerant of Allen and other children, as he has grown up around all of our overnight sleepovers with our nieces and nephews!

Marshall and Christie are so excited to adopt again!Final Words...
We are certain that we are ready for another adoption. Our first experience was so rewarding and we look forward to adopting again. God has sent us down this road for a reason. We welcome a discussion of an open or closed adoption plan. We look forward to sharing with this child how wonderful the birthparents were in making this decision. We have a very strong marriage; centered on God, loving families, secure futures, and most importantly...so much love to give.
