Dear Birthmother,

We are so excited about the opportunity to become parents for the first time.  We can hardly wait to play at the playground, attend school plays, say bedtime prayers and kiss away boo boos.

About Us
We both grew up being very active in sports and enjoying the outdoors.  One of the many things that brought us together was our love and appreciation for life and the outdoors.  We’re very adventurous, and love spending time together hiking, traveling, snow skiing, camping and fishing. We also love to stay home and watch movies, play Mario Cart (Mike always wins somehow… boo) or have friends over to play board games.

We live a relaxed life that God is the foundation of.  Part of God’s plan for our lives is being part of the US Military, which we are so proud of.  Mike’s been in the Air Force for 12 years now.  The military offers us the unique opportunity of traveling and living abroad.  We were fortunate to live in Europe for 5 years traveling all over and experiencing many wonderful cultures.  Now we live in Japan and we can’t wait to travel and see Asia.  We can’t wait to share our faith, our love for adventure and our love for family with a child.

My Mike … (by Aspen)
Mike is a “Man’s Man”, and he’s Prince Charming.  He’s the perfect mix of compassion and strength. Whether he’s jumping from planes on a mission or playing airplane with our friend’s children his heart is fully committed.

Mike is such an amazing man, a natural leader and my biggest cheerleader. Everyday he inspires me to learn more, give more and laugh more.  His sense of humor is priceless and keeps our marriage fresh. He has gentleness about him that I adore and he makes me feel like the only one in the room every time he sees me.  Mike is instantly the life of a party. His heart is so genuine and he is so charismatic people are instantly drawn to him. I know without a doubt Mike will be an amazing father. He will love, provide for and protect his family.

My Darling Aspen… (by Mike)
My wife is one of the greatest people I’ve ever known.  Her smile and laughter is infectious and is exactly what drew me to her.  She is hard working and dedicated to our family and faith.  She is truly the backbone of our family and continues to make each house our home, regardless of where the military sends us.

Her heart knows no bounds when it comes to showing me love.  And I know there is a longing to show her love to a child.  I can’t wait for the day to see her with our child cradled in her arms rocking that precious baby to sleep.  It fills my heart to know how great a mother Aspen will be and how blessed our child will be to have a mom like her.

Our Home in Japan
The military offers many advantages overseas; one of those is the sense of community. They make every effort to provide us with the comforts of home.  Our neighborhood on base is just like many around the States.  We live in a comfortable two bedroom, two bathroom ranch-style home with a huge backyard and playground.  We live across the street from a school so we have access to many of its amenities, like a pool and sports fields.

Base also offers movie theatres, bowling allies, skating rinks, parks, pools, fitness centers, and youth centers.  There are children’s drama clubs, dance studios, sports leagues and church groups offered.  Anything that available in your hometown is probably offered here. They do a great job of making base into a real community.
