Dear Birthmother,

We have been married for almost thirteen years.  After years of trying to conceive we decided adoption was what we both wanted.  When we decided to adopt we had such a peace about our choice and have felt God led us to this path for our family. 

We were blessed to adopt our daughters, Autumn and Abby.  Autumn’s adoption is very open and we have remained close with her birthparents.  Abby’s adoption is semi-open, at her birthmother’s request, and we share letters and pictures with her about Abby because that is what made her comfortable. 

We are fortunate to have careers that allow us to work from home, and to focus more on our family life.  We enjoy traveling in our spare time, spending time at the lake, and attending church activities. 

About Michael by Kim
Michael has an energy about him that is contagious.  A true Southern gentleman, he has the ability to put people at ease with only a smile. Michael is a very active and involved father. At any given moment you could find him playing outside, building a fort in the living room, or being a model as our daughter makes up his face with the latest eye shadow and pink lip gloss.  Michael enjoys anything outdoors and sees that our children have a better appreciation for the outdoors and the environment.

About Kim by Michael
Kim has an unconditional love for her family and friends and is very loyal.  In her free time she enjoys reading and shopping, although she says this is more of an art than a hobby. 

Kim was meant to be a mother, the love she feels for our daughters is written on her face. Talk to her about parenting and her whole face lights up; it is truly magical.

Autumn
Autumn is five years old and full of energy and life. Autumn loves to travel and visit her “MiMi” at their farm.  She also loves the water, swimming and riding in the boat, she loves fishing with daddy and shoe shopping with mommy.  Autumn is takes dance, tkyando and soccer as well as computer tots through her school, she loves being involved and spending time with her friends.  Autumn understands her adoption story and how special her birthparents are to us.

Abby Kate
Abby is over a year old and we are really enjoying getting to know her little personality.  Abby’s birthparents preferred a semi-closed adoption, and we respect her decision.  Abby is not longer just walking she is running and so are we!  She is a very active child, and enjoys singing and playing dress up with her sister.  Abby loves to snuggle with us and to laugh and play hide and seek.   

Our Home and Our Life
Our home is out in the country in Mississippi though still close enough to the big city.  Some of our neighbors are our best friends.  Our children have grown up together, attend school together, and play every day. We have two acres and a four bedroom three bath home. We are blessed to have such a great network of friends, them along with our huge family, are our support and our strength. 

Our Promise to You
We love the life we have built and we love being adoptive parents.  We promise to teach your child what we emphasize to our daughters daily, which is love and acceptance. We love being an interracial family built through adoption. We try to be examples of what it’s like to keep an open mind with loving hearts.  It is the best thing for our daughters, our future child and our family.
