Adoptive parents, Neil and Danielle

Dear Birthmother,

Thanks for taking the time to learn more about us.  We are eagerly waiting to become first-time parents through adoption and are excited to devote our unconditional love to your baby.

We’ve been best friends for 15 years, happily married for nine of them.  We are an active, energetic couple that enjoys working and playing outdoors.  Hiking, running, biking, kayaking, and wildlife watching are a few of our hobbies.  Together, we run an agricultural-based business from our home that has been a success for over 30 years.  We had always dreamed of this lifestyle; making a living from home allowing us both to be intimately involved in our child’s daily life.  Infertility has prevented us from starting a family and we look forward to being parents through adoption.

Neil is an incredibly compassionate, gentle and devoted man.  He has a certain ease about him that makes you feel comfortable in his presence.  He enjoys the journey as much as the destination and often reminds me of the larger perspective that patience brings.  He sees life’s adversities as opportunities for personal growth and he willingly confronts challenges, appreciative of the lessons they reveal.  He is a wonderful listener and is genuinely interested in people’s stories.  His friends know this well and often come to him for advice or just a shoulder to lean on.  With these unique qualities, I know he will be an amazingly supportive father.

Neil holds a Bachelor’s in City and Regional Planning and has completed coursework towards his Master’s in Psychology.  His mother was a school teacher and education has always been an important part of his family.  We will provide every opportunity for your child to reach their highest potential through education.

My Wife, Danielle
Danielle feeding a couple of their goatsDanielle is the most genuine, honest, warm, and nurturing woman I have ever met.  She puts loved ones first and she makes me feel completely and unconditionally loved with her selflessness.  She always lightens the mood with her silly playfulness and her positive outlook lends to her resilience when life presents new obstacles and surprises.  She feels great joy when surrounded by friends and family and she loves preparing fresh home-cooked meals from our garden.  She finds solace walking through our orchard with our dogs.

Danielle holds a Bachelor’s in Wildlife Biology and worked in the past as a Biologist for the State, surveying endangered shorebirds.  Her passion for God’s creatures continues as she volunteers at organizations that rescue and rehabilitate sick/injured animals.  I can’t wait to see her shine as the mother I know she is meant to be and I feel deeply grateful that we get to share this life together with our child.

Neil and Danielle's families visit oftenOur Families
We grew up in the same small beach town with similar backgrounds.  We were both raised with Christian values and we continue to live by these daily. Neil’s family lives in California and we visit regularly.  They have been so supportive and can’t wait for us to build a family through adoption.  Danielle’s parents are nearly retired and are eager to spoil their first grandchild. They plan on moving back to California soon after the baby arrives.

Neil and Danielle's Central California home sits on 80 acresOur Home & Neighborhood
We live in a three bedroom home on 80 acres just outside of a bustling, family-oriented Central Coast California town.  We have a separate one bedroom granny unit for guests and family. We are nestled among orchards, horse ranches, and vineyards and our town hosts many festivals, fairs, and weekly farmer’s markets.  We love our location because it’s far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet, yet 10 short minutes from the hospital, parks, libraries, museums, and a first-rate school district.  There’s always a four-legged (or two-legged) creature not too far from sight.  We share our lives with three friendly dogs, a cat, three pygmy goats and chickens for fresh eggs.  Our home is the destination spot for all the holidays and both of our families meet here for a large dose of fun.  At Christmas and Thanksgiving in particular, it is pleasantly chaotic with children, pets, food, games, and laughter!
