| Church |
Being a Pentecostal Holiness Minister and Pastor, I love being in services and being able to worship with a congregation of people, singing and preaching. And seeing friends and family from all over the country. We travel to many Camp Meeting services all over the country, especially during the summer months. |
I have always loved going to church, it has been a major part of my life since I was a little baby. There is no other place I enjoy being as good as in church services. I love the singing, preaching, and the testimonies of the people who have been helped by God. And I also love the family and friends I have made through church. That's where I met Nick!!! |
| Animals |
I love animals. Kim and I raise Long Hair Chihuahua’s and Chocolate Labs. I also love raising Pygmy Goats. One day I hope to own a farm where I can raise cows and horses as well. |
If I could keep every stray dog I see I would - but a girl has her limits. Dogs have a very special place in my heart. As a girl I was raised in the mountains and I often remember my brothers coming home with baby raccoons and ground hogs that they had found while out hunting, and we would raise them. I love animals!!! |
| Music |
I love Bluegrass Gospel music, especially some of the older stuff, by Jimmy Martin, Bill Monroe, Larry Sparks and the Great Ralph Stanley. We also like to attend concerts and events when we get the opportunity to do so. Also we often travel around the south east playing gospel music in Churches and special events, as well as on the front porch and with our friends. |
I remember as a little girl listening to my Daddy play his Gospel Bluegrass and I would love to sing with him. At the time I did not knowing my future husband would be a Gospel Bluegrass Musician himself and now I just don’t sing in the car but also in our family band. We collect CD’s and we have over 400 Gospel and Gospel Bluegrass CDs. Music is both relaxing and also exciting to me. |
| Travel |
We love jumping in the car and taking vacations to the beach; Florida is especially a favorite of mine. Kim’s family lives in the mountains of Virginia so we often have 1 or 2 trips a month to see them and look around and enjoy the scenery there. We also love to fish, even though Kim won’t touch the bait, she is good at pulling those fish to shore. |
With an arm full of tapes, my trusty pillow, and a homemade ice cream I am set for a trip. This is mine and Nick's quality time where we talk, sing, laugh, site see and eat our way to wherever we’re going. We probably have a favorite restaurant in about every zip code in North Carolina and most of Virginia. |
| Together Time |
We love being together and are truly each other's best friend. I love laying around with Kim and talking as well as listening to Adventures in Odyssey Adventures (dramatic stories on tape or CD that are Christian based and are very exciting for kids as well as adults).. |
There is no other person I would rather be with than Nick; so many of my friends say the can’t wait till their husbands get out of their hair, but I count the minutes when he is not here. We like to go out to eat, walk on the beach, take walks down our road, play with our dogs, read books together, and many other activities. |
| Woodworking |
I built my workshop behind my house where I can go and work on my furniture projects and usually just make a lot of saw dust. But every now and again I make something worth keeping. |
I buy Nick tools and hope it turns out for the best. I also pray a lot!!! |
| Cooking |
I’m no cook, but every now and again I get a creative side and whip up something, but mostly that is Kim’s specialty. |
Pancakes, cookies, sweet potato casserole, chicken and dumplings, as well as many other dishes I love to cook, as well as trying new things. Cooking is such an enjoyable thing for me where I can relax and try new things. It also thrills me when I see Nick and guests clean their plates. It is fun!!! |
