Dear Birthmother,

Hello!  We are Roric and Michelle.  We have dreamed of about having a family and can’t wait to be parents for the first time.  We appreciate you taking the time to learn more about us.

About Us
We met in 2001 and our relationship quickly blossomed.  We realized early on that we shared many of the same life goals, values, and beliefs.   One event that has not happened yet that encompasses all three of those is raising a family.  We are both extremely excited to start our family through adoption.  Our life together finds us cooking, traveling, working out and attending sporting events together on a regular basis.  We both believe strongly in education and hope to share that opportunity with our children.  Our parents allowed us to explore as children and find our own interests and hobbies and then shared in them with us, and we hope to do the same.

About Roric
Roric is very strong and determined.  His openness, friendly nature, and insightfulness have helped him become extremely successful in his job as a financial planner.  He is a mentor to many new advisors nationwide, and has been asked by the home office to serve on the agents’ advisory council.  Roric enjoys a wide range of sports, both participating and watching.  Recently, he has become an avid cook and griller.  It is not uncommon to find Roric trying a new recipe he saw on the Food Network for our families.  I believe Roric will be such a great father, with so much to share and teach.  He will provide everything a child can need and want. 

About Michelle
Michelle is one of the most caring and understanding people I have met.  She has a unique ability to see the good in people; the best in them.  I can only imagine how that ability will benefit us as we start a family. 

Her job as a kindergarten teacher has opened my eyes in to what an amazing mother she will be.  She has learned on daily basis new and interesting ways to relate to kids.  Her passion for kids is evident each night when I hear about her day at work.  She is extremely creative and artistic.  She also has an amazing green thumb!

Our Home
We have a cute one-story ranch style home in Wisconsin with three bedrooms and a spacious yard.  We are already preparing one of the bedrooms into a nursery.  Although we live in a city, we are surrounded by large parks and recreation areas.  We are a short drive from Lake Michigan, and have three schools within a one mile radius.  Our location gives us access to many cultural and social events as well.

Our Family
Roric’s family already knows the blessing and rewards adoption can bring to a family, as his sister Sara was adopted at birth.  He is originally from Missouri, and some of his family is still there.  His mother and step-father spend part of their time in southern Utah and the summers in Missouri. Sara and her husband were in the military and have recently relocated to Denver.  He has a step-brother that lives near Baltimore.  We try to visit as much as we can throughout the year, and his family is eager to see us return as a family.

Michelle’s family is mainly from Wisconsin: two of her four brothers are here in Wisconsin and the other two are in Las Vegas. She also has a sister who has passed. We are blessed with many nieces and nephews, and even have a great-niece and great-nephew that joined the family this year.

Our Faith
We were both raised in Christian homes and hope to raise our child with the same love of God and compassion for others that was instilled in us.  Michelle has kept up a Sunday tradition of attending a Catholic church on a weekly basis with her mother.
