Dear Birthmother,
Hi, we are Sal and Laura and we thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We have been married for over 17 years and while unable to have children, we are excited to become parents and would love to welcome your baby into our family. We are very excited to adopt our first child.
We are already aware of the blessings of adoption for our family. Sal was adopted into his family and he can't wait to share that special bond with our child.
About Us
We met in junior high school, and over the years, our crushes as childhood sweethearts turned into love and us becoming best friends. After being engaged for several years we were married. We have been happily married for over 17 years.
We are both Disney fans and being married on April Fools day, we honeymooned at Disneyworld. Disneyland is a regular vacation spot for us, and we can't wait until we can bring our child with us.
On weekends and most vacations we enjoy getting out of the house and driving around our beautiful state and love going out to eat at new restaurants.
About Laura
Laura has been a pre-kindergarten teacher for over 15 years and has a great love for children. She has a silly and bubbly personality and is definitely a kid at heart .
Laura likes to read, watch movies and work in the garden. She really enjoys arts and crafts, especially counted cross-stitching.
Laura, a giant Winnie the Pooh fan, has already started decorating the nursery.
About Sal
Sal is a computer systems administrator and has been working in the computer field for over twenty years, having been with the same company for 8 years.
In addition to playing with computers, Sal enjoys many creative hobbies including woodcarving, knitting, and his latest passion, photography .
Sal is very involved in our church. He is a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and helps with the RCIA program .
Sal was also adopted as an infant and has one other adopted brother. Just recently Sal was reunited with his birth parents as well as a full brother and several half brothers and sister! We live close to all of Sal's family as well.
Our Family
We are very fortunate to live just a short distance from our immediate family. Both of our parents are only a few minutes away and our brothers and sisters are within 10 minutes.
Birthdays, anniversaries and holidays are always spent with our family, all surrounding food! Sometimes it's a quick dinner with our parents, other times, big get-togethers with parents, brothers and sisters, extended family and friends.
Laura is the youngest of her family, having one older sister and two older brothers. She also has two nieces and two nephews. Sal is the oldest and has one brother.
Our family is very supportive of us adopting and has always been there for us over the years.
Our Life
Our daily life is pretty calm. We're both usually home by late afternoon and when we do adopt our first child Laura will become a stay-at-home mom. Sal has flexible hours and can work from home sometimes. Laura enjoys an exercise class a couple times a week and Sal usually works at the church one night a week.
We realize a child means a big change in our lives, but this is something that we are definitely looking forward to.
Our Community and Home
We live in the San Francisco Bay Area in a two-bedroom town home. It's on a nice quiet street within walking distance to many parks, shops, schools, and our church. We have a small backyard with plenty of Laura's plants.
Our Faith
We are both practicing Catholic Christians. We believe in having our child baptized and raised learning about and having a belief in God.
Our Promise
We are very excited about becoming parents. We promise that your child will be raised in a happy and stable environment, filled with lots of family and plenty of love.
