Adoptive parents, Sam and Lara

Dear Birthmother,

We are Sam and Lara, and are so excited to be writing you.  Adoption has been such a blessing in our lives – we can hardly wait to add to our family again. Thank you for taking the time to read and learn more about us.

Sam and Lara have a Christmas gingerbread cookie contestAbout Us
We met 12 years ago playing softball, and quickly fell in love, unable to go a day without seeing each other.  Four years into our marriage, we’d had two miscarriages and found out we were infertile.  We began our first adoption journey and are now so thankful to be a family of three.

These days, we spend our time on bikes, hiking with the dogs, exploring local parks or indoor play gyms.  In the house, we’re doing crafts, playing games…or just cuddling together by the TV.  We’re a happy, fun-loving bunch with a lot of love to give.

One of Lara's hobbies is photographyMy Wife, Lara
I find myself daydreaming at work about coming home and seeing Lara smiling with those beautiful blue eyes I fell in love with.  She is such a loving wife and mother.  She loves God, is optimistic in every situation, funny, persistent, and loves all children.  She has lots of hobbies, including crafts like photography and needle-work, as well as dancing, reading, decorating the house and working in the yard.

Lara is also the best mommy because she has the gift of motherly love and instinct.  For over 12 years she was a teacher to multi-handicapped deaf children.  Now a stay-at-home mom, those teaching skills still pop up.  She’ll be playing with Taylor before I realize she just gave her a “lesson” too.  I never knew learning could be so much fun.

Sam loves going for rides on his mountain bikeMy Husband, Sam
When I first met Sam, I knew immediately I was hooked!  I never knew there could be a man who is so masculine, yet also sensitive and understanding.  He’s a perfect husband and father: funny, kind, outgoing, considerate…and he treats me like gold.

Sam is a computer network engineer for a nation-wide company.  He also loves the outdoors, such as fishing and hiking, as well as playing his drums and Wii.  But his favorite now is just being a dad.  He has always been 100% involved, and I love the way he spoils Taylor with affection and time.  He has made their relationship so strong, and I know he’ll do the same with our next child.

Taylor is our adorable five year old, and very excited to become a big sister.  She is helpful, imaginative, quite sociable and energetic. She loves to have tea parties, bike ride and swim. Everyday since she was born has been special and we both enjoy all aspects of parenthood…the craziness, as well as those joyful moments.

Our Faith & Family
We are committed Christians with Lara teaching a pre-school class every Sunday…and Sam is a deacon, also playing drums for children’s church.  We both stay involved in local and global mission work, too.  Our church friends are like family, and our relatives are just as wonderful.

Both of our parents have been married for over 35 years.  Sam’s live here in Alabama and we get to see them often.  Lara’s parents live in Orlando and love taking the grandkids to Disney World.   And we both have brothers (and sisters-in-law) who love to dote on nieces and nephews!

Last year we moved down to the coast.  We feel so blessed to be within 30 minutes of the beach!  Our new home is a large brick house with big open rooms, and a fenced yard for our two dogs, Joe and Abby.

Our neighborhood is a small one, with terrific neighbors and friends. And our city has a charming small-town feel, while still being near the comforts of a big city.  We love that we can walk downtown to a playground and our favorite ice cream shop.

Sam and Lara will give your son every possible opportunityOur Promise
Your child will be loved beyond measure, given every opportunity to grow into a happy, educated and well-rounded Christian.  He or she will always know your loving sacrifice through adoption.  We’ll send you letters, pictures, and home videos if you like.  And we’d love to exchange phone calls and get together, too.

Please call Lifetime at 1-800-923-6784 to learn more about us.  We’ll be praying for you!
