Dear Birthmother,

Thanks for considering us! We met eight years ago on a snowshoe excursion, married one and a half years later, and have been relishing life’s many adventures together since. Our diverse interests include travel, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, church activities, visiting family and friends, and snuggling on the couch for movie night.

Our most exciting journey thus far has been raising our cherished two-year-old son, Bryce. We were blessed with him after undergoing infertility treatments. However, we have not been able to have another pregnancy since.  We are looking forward to adopting our second child and can’t wait to see our family grow.

About Jodi by Steve:
I know Jodi as a down-to-earth, loving person, with a great sense of humor.  Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Jodi had a successful career, and had many adventures and travels abroad. 

Now she is dedicated to providing structure, fun activities, good social development and other learning opportunities for our son.  Jodi has many great qualities, however, I admire her most for the way she is raising a happy, healthy, and active little boy.  Being a great mom comes naturally to Jodi and she really enjoys it.
                                                                                                                
One of the things I look forward to most about welcoming a new baby into our home is seeing Jodi’s love extended as a mother of two. 

About Steve by Jodi:
Steve has a remarkable combination of love, loyalty, and intelligence. When we first met, I was drawn to his gentle spirit and strong character. His is heart-warming adoration of our son is so evident when they are together. Steve has embraced his role as daddy by demonstrating that important balance between playful fun and patient guidance. He is quick to help a friend in need, whether it is moving furniture or offering a listening ear.

Steve has a stable job as a Project Manager for a financial institution. We share many common interests and he is not merely my husband, but my friend.

About Our Son:
A friend summed-up Bryce’s outgoing disposition: “Bryce doesn’t go to the party, Bryce is the party.” With a combination of toddler-babble and real words, he gleefully chats with most everyone he encounters. Enthusiastically he takes on new experiences like snow tubing, ice skating, and tri-cycling.  When around other children, he is happy to share his favorite cars, and shows sympathy when they’re sad. Bryce will certainly make a very kind and entertaining big brother.

Our Families:
The majority of Jodi’s large family resides in the Chicago, Illinois area, where she grew up. We take frequent vacations there to visit this vibrant bunch. Eating grandma’s homemade spaghetti, and visiting the water parks and zoo are a few of the things we like to do together.

Steve’s family all live in California. We often have our gatherings at Steve’s parent’s winery, a rustic building with sweeping views of the valley and vineyards. We get the cousins together regularly for fun at local children’s museums and amusement parks.

Our families are all thrilled and supportive about our plans to adopt.

Holidays are very special to us. We celebrate by attending church, festive Thanksgiving and Christmas parties, Easter egg hunts, and Trick-or-Treating.

Our House:
Our home is in Northern California, an easy day trip to the majestic mountains, breathtaking coast, or culture-rich city. The town is brimming with young families, and offers an array of parks, schools, and fruit stands which makes it an idyllic place to raise a family.

We have a roomy house: four bedrooms, great room, spacious kitchen – nicely decorated yet comfy. The nursery is adorned with tropical sea creatures in hopes our love for exploring will eventually rub off on our kids. The fenced yard, complete with inflatable water slide, is very kid-friendly.

We have two friendly Australian Shepherds, who come along on trips to swim, hike, and play in the snow.
