Adoptive parents, Steve and Shana

Dear Birthmother,

We are Steve and Shana, an active, fun-loving couple who have been married for over 16 years. We have one child and have loved being parents. We always hoped for more children and feel blessed to grow our family through adoption.

While we went to the same college, we didn’t meet until several years after graduation. We were blessed with a wonderful son early in our marriage – Christian, who is now 15 years old. While we were not able to have more children due to infertility, we have always hoped we would raise more children. We are excited about adopting our second child.

As a family we enjoy traveling to the beach and to the mountains to ski and snowboard. We love taking long walks, working on our house and yard, spending time with our friends and volunteering at school and in our community.

We both work in the family business which allows for great flexibility with our schedules. Both of our families live within 10 minutes of us and are always eager to lend a hand and spend time with their grandson. They can’t wait to dote on another grandchild!

I knew in my heart that I was going to marry Steve after our first date. He is probably the most loyal, genuine and honest person I’ve ever met. Steve has a great sense of humor and has kept me laughing for 17 years! He’s a great dad and there’s nothing that makes him light up more than when he and Christian are doing something together. Steve has a great love of music and has played the guitar since high school and has even started playing the banjo. During his free-time Steve coaches youth hockey. He’s been coaching for about five years and I love watching him with the kids on his teams.

Shana is warm, friendly and beautiful. She is my best friend and I love spending time with her. She is fun loving, spontaneous, gregarious, trusting, and a natural leader of others. She is also an avid volunteer and has spent much time and effort helping a variety of local charitable organizations.

Shana is a great mother, loves children and is very at ease with them. You should see her play with our niece and nephew! She enjoys reading, knitting, shopping, walking, hiking and tennis. She is creatively inclined and enjoys decorating and arts and crafts.Christian is excited to have a little brother or sister to spoil

Our Son, Christian
Christian is a smart, funny and outgoing kid. He attends a private all-boys school that is located very close to our home. He is very active and plays hockey and lacrosse for his school. He’s very excited about the possibility of having a little brother or sister to spoil.

Our Home and Pets
We live in a quiet suburban neighborhood in Tennessee. Our home is spacious and newly renovated with four comfortable bedrooms, one of which is already dedicated to the new baby weSteve and Shana's home in Tennessee hope to adopt. We have a large, treed backyard that is great for all kinds of outdoor fun. Within quick driving distance are our favorite nature park where we hike every weekend, our neighborhood swimming pool and tennis courts and even the ice rink where Steve and Christian both play hockey.

We have four dogs: Sophie, Bleu, Millie and Tucker. They are all very sweet, gentle dogs. They are used to being around lots of family and friends and love any and all attention.

Our Family
Our extended family is very important to us. We are very fortunate to have all four parents alive, active and healthy. In addition, between us we have three brothers. Everyone lives in the same town and we get together to celebrate holidays and birthdays and even enjoy traveling together. In fact, we just returned from a vacation in Colorado with Steve’s family to celebrate his dad’s 70th birthday.

Shana and Steve are excited to add to their family through adoption! Our Promise to You
