We're from Alabama!

We are choosing to adopt a child because:
We love being parents. Rachael often tells Eli, “My job is being your mommy, and I LOVE my job.” Our love is deep, joy-filled and strong! We have so much love to give and feel strongly that being parents is what we were MEANT to do. And not least of all for Eli: we want him to have that sense of connection to our family with his siblings that sense of completeness that being a big brother or sister can mean to a child.

The things that make our family special and unique are:
We have a great sense of humor. We are easy-going, slow to anger and quick to forgive. Rachael is an artist and Tim is an accountant, so between the two of us, we can help our children develop into that unique person they are destined to become. As parents, we love helping Eli explore and develop his talents to find his gifts. He is taking gymnastics, we’re sure there will be drum lessons in his future. He likes to play “air drums” to his Toddler Tunes and songs on the radio.

The things we look forward to sharing with a child are:
We look forward to sharing our loving home, Christian faith, unconditional love, lots of laughter, gentle pets, friends and family, traditions and neighborhood. We look forward to morning hugs and kisses, bedtime stories, blanket snuggles and treasuring the everyday uncommon. Like seeing what kind of bird will come to eat at our bird feeder, or having a fun day at one of the many nearby clean and safe city parks with swings, slides and sandboxes.

Other members of our family eager to welcome a child are:
A lovely and lively grandmother, “Nanny” is eager for a new grandchild to love and spoil. She loves going clothes shopping. “Papa”, is ready and waiting for grandchild number seven! Our entire extended family of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins are eager for a new family member. Our friends from both our places of work are so happy that we are doing this again and can’t wait to find out every detail. Eli’s teachers and friends at preschool hope he’ll soon have a brother or sister. Our church family is eagerly waiting for updates on our adoption journey.
