Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for the opportunity to introduce ourselves. We feel blessed to be part of a large circle of family and friends, nearly all of whom live close by. They are so supportive of our adoption plan, which only makes us more excited to adopt our first child. We can hardly wait to be parents. We look forward to providing the same safe and nurturing environment that we grew up with as children and young adults. We know that parenting is a gift and a privilege. Our strongest, most heartfelt desire is to be blessed with the opportunity to be loving parents.

About Us
We've been inseparable ever since our first date and we've been married almost 10 years. We've always talked about the importance of having children in our family lives. As our relationship has grown, so has our desire to raise children together.

Tom works as a network technician and Dawnette works as an administrator. As a couple, we have much in common: our background, our Lutheran faith, our interests and passions. We believe in the value of education, both obtaining bachelor's degrees, as well as additional certificates and degrees in our career fields. We like to travel, visiting such places as Florida, Washington D.C., Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean, as well as exploring our own state of Minnesota.

We follow professional sports such as baseball and hockey, and attend games as often as possible. Above all, we enjoy spending time with family and friends. We are known for cooking, baking, and typically play host to family functions and friends' celebrations; we enjoy creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere with good food and laughs.

About Our Home
Eight years ago we designed and built our three bedroom, two and a half bath home. We have a large front and back yard perfect for child play. Our home is in a quiet community with many young families. We are just a couple of blocks from a park with a large playground, a soccer field, a baseball diamond, and basketball hoops. Just beyond the park is an elementary school. We are just a half hour from two large cities where there are well-regarded and nationally acclaimed museums, theaters, sports complexes, universities, and medical facilities. We are fortunate to be able to make our life nestled in an area within close proximity to urban, suburban and rural-agricultural areas.

Dawnette is easy to talk to, and a great listener. Dawnette is a great friend, a caring and loving partner, and I know she will be a selfless mom. Dawnette is a great cook and baker. She is definitely the "party planner" when it comes to celebrations with friends and family, creating themes with related menus and decorations. I see Dawnette when our niece and nephews are visiting; she loves to play their games, loves to help them explore our house, loves to aid them in discovering their hidden artist talents, and loves to make them smile. She loves being the "Cool Aunt," but I can't wait to see her be a great mom.

Tom is a very romantic, loving husband. He is intelligent, analytical, and very handy about fixing and decorating things around our house. His creative side comes out when he designs the layout for a house or landscaping project, or organizes a game outdoors with our friends and their kids when they visit. He loves working with technology in general, whether it is for his job, or to investigate the details of a software program or an electronic device. He is the first to plan a visit to the hospital when a friend or family member has a child, always with our camera in tow. I eagerly await the time when Tom can be called "dad" and call himself a father.

Our Future
We are excited to begin sharing our lives with our first child and watching him or her grow into an inquisitive toddler, an active pre-schooler, a creative student, an independent teenager, a responsible adult and possibly someday, a loving parent themselves.

It's very important to us to that education be made a priority, and that opportunities to explore interests and passions be encouraged. We will make sure your child knows what it is to feel loved and supported, as well as cherished and respected.
