Dear Birthmother,
We’ve dreamed of having a child to love and nurture, and had been trying to conceive on our own for the past three years, but after one miscarriage and many infertility treatments that door is closed; however, God definitely opened another door, because all of this has led us to you!
About Us:
We were set up on a blind date six years ago and within only a few months of meeting, were engaged, and then married. We have a unique relationship because our personalities couldn’t be more opposite, but that’s what’s always attracted us to each other and keeps life so interesting and exciting!
However, beliefs in God, family, and raising children are most important to us and we look forward to sharing the challenges and blessings that can only be seen through the eyes of a child.
Our Hobbies
We spend the majority of our time together enjoying the simplest of things, from cooking, renting movies, and golfing to heading to the beach, a family gathering, or a college football game.
Whitney loves playing video games, yard work, skiing, golfing, and just about any other sport that can be thought of. He’s definitely the athlete in the family! Leann enjoys hanging out at the river, reading, skiing, and playing with our chocolate lab, Zero.
Whitney about Leann:
Leann is very energetic and full of life. The first time I met her, all I could see was her huge smile and big brown eyes. She stole my heart on our first date with her infectious laughter and attentiveness. She tries to find the meaning of life in the smallest of things and I admire her for her faith and positive attitude.
She was created to be a mom, although her faith has been tested over the years. She’s never given up on God’s plan, and continues to say that she will wait because he has already “handpicked our child”. Leann works in the Family Court as a Juvenile Coordinator, and loves the opportunity to help troubled kids.
Leann about Whitney:
Whitney is the most patient and honest person I’ve ever met and every day he makes me feel special and loved. Many mornings I wake up to “I love you”, notes propped against the coffee maker or even homemade cards, because he knows those are my favorite kinds of gifts.
I know Whitney will make an amazing daddy not only for the kind and playful person he is, but also the example he saw in his dad growing up. He and his dad could not have a deeper mutual love and respect for one another, and in addition to playing golf together regularly, Whitney has been blessed to work in the family insurance business.
Our Home
We feel blessed to live in Alabama and have a beautiful home in a peaceful neighborhood, where kids can feel safe riding bikes and playing. There’s only one entrance into our subdivision, so there’s very little traffic. We have a large screened in porch that overlooks a big back yard with lots of room for a child to run, play, and explore and a favorite pastime of ours is watching Zero play in the sprinklers!
We are also blessed to live near the Tennessee River, where we have a family cabin and is it ever beautiful! In the summer, we go on weekends to ride wave runners, watch Zero swim, or just sit on the pier and relax. All of our family lives close, so some weekends the whole gang (grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews) get together to grill out, make homemade ice cream and visit.
Our Promise to You:
We promise to love your child unconditionally and teach them how to love themselves even more. We can’t wait to take him/her camping and on vacations to show them what this big world has to offer, but more importantly teach them to live each day with laughter and purpose. Education is very important, and we promise to encourage and support your child to reach their fullest potential.
We also want your child to know how special you are for the gift that only you can give, and would love to send cards, pictures, and welcome occasional visits. If you want to learn more about us, please contact us through Lifetime at 1-800-923-6784.
