Heaven Sent

Hi Veronica,
Heaven sent us our perfect angel, Gabriel. The road was bumpy and winding, but as we look back on our adoption journey, we know that every turn has led us to Gabe who is now two months old. He is happy and healthy and keeps us very busy! We can’t even remember what life was like without him.

Our birthparents have been wonderful. We felt a great connection with them right away. Facebook has been an excellent way to share pictures and videos with them. We are looking forward to keeping in touch with our birthparents and hopefully visiting with them in the summer.

Happy New Year! We are just starting to get the hang of a new addition to the family! Avery is doing great. She is two and a half months old & growing like crazy. She is already ahead of schedule developmentally & very healthy. She is starting to notice Emma, holding her head up babbling & smiling a lot. We can already tell that Emma is going to be a great big sister & that they are very different. 

We speak to Avery's birthmother occasionally through Facebook or email & send her pics as often as we can. Thanks again for helping us find Avery's birthmother & bringing our little Avery home!

We wanted to let you know that our Lifetime baby, Bethany, is doing great! She is eight months old now, and she brings us such joy. Bethany is a very affectionate baby.  She melts into our arms when we pick her up, and she never gets tired of being cuddled. She loves to give hugs and kisses. In fact, "kiss" ("keesh") was her first word. We are glad to be able to send pictures and updates to her birthmama, who is so dear to our hearts. We heard from her recently, and she seems to be doing well.  We think of you all often and hope you are well!

Living Our Dream

Hi ladies! 

It's been awhile seen we've updated you so we thought what better day to do it but Eli's birthday!  He is three years old today and it seems like yesterday we were in the delivery room watching him arrive.  Thanks to Lifetime and his amazing birthparents, we are now living the dream we only imagined living before!  God has blessed us so much and even more in the past year.  We had the opportunity to adopt a baby girl who needed a home right here from our own community.  She is now 21 months and Eli now has a baby sister of his own!  He is an adorable big brother - very protective and loving.  Thank you guys so much for being an instrument in building our family.  We couldn't imagine our lives without our children...God is so good.  We wish the best to Eli's birthparents and couldn't be more thankful to them for their selflessness.

We finalized Cassidy's adoption! It was a very formal court proceeding, which was quite different from how Connor's finalization went. We met up with Cassidy's birthmother and her mom after we were back at our hotel. It was fun spending time with her again. We had dinner and then met up for breakfast. What a great Christmas present! The Joys of Having Boys

Hi Veronica,

We are so overdue for an update! I was talking to a future adoptive mommy this morning and talking about Lifetime, made me think about sending an update. We feel so blessed to have been perfectly matched with the lovely birthmothers of our two boys. It's hard to believe that its been five years since we adopted Eli and 16 months since we added sweet Joel to our family. Our happiness is complete!

Eli, age five, is taking gymnastics at preschool, loves the computer, is beginning to learn to read and can write his first name. He wants to play soccer next. He loves trains and his ambition (currently) is to be a train engineer!

Joel, at 16 months, is running and exploring everything. We have a Diaper Champ pail, where you flip the handle to drop the dirty diapers in….Joel dropped in daddy's cell phone and flipped the handle. We only found it because I heard it ringing while I was changing a diaper! Ha! Joel can also say many words: DaDa, Mamma, Eli, Dog, Bark, Wet, Bah-bee (baby) Ba-Baa (Bottle) and Ball. 

Again, thanks for all the care and support Lifetime showed our birthmommies and us through our adoptions. We couldn't have done it without you.

A Match Made in Heaven

Blessed by Adoption

To everyone at Lifetime,

We hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season with a Merry Christmas and looking forward to a wonderful new year!  We feel so blessed with our adoption of Lucas.  He has been a wonderful baby and a delight to have.  It is hard to believe it has been almost six months since we were able to bring him home! We were so blessed by Lucas's birthmother to be able to be at the hospital for his birth.  We were not able to be in the room during the birth, but she had the hospital set us up in the next room, and they brought Lucas directly to us.

It was an amazing experience to be able to be a part of his birth and have pictures from the beginning.  We still have a good relationship with Lucas's birthmother, and have an open line of communication with her.  We really couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we know that the Lord was truly working in our lives to have allowed everything to have gone so smoothly.  On Lucas' four month birthday, we had his finalization hearing, and the judge signed the final documents needed for Lucas to finally be officially our son.  We had a big day to celebrate!

Lucas enjoyed his first Christmas, and he received many presents from family and friends.  He enjoyed playing with his cousin, Parker, who is only six weeks older.  Lucas is trying to crawl, but he hasn't quite gotten the hang of it yet.  He is so expressive and such a happy baby!  He also sleeps extremely well at night, and when he wakes up in the morning, he is generally all smiles.  We can't express to all of you how much we truly appreciate all your assistance and efforts to help us during our adoption process.  We were very fortunate to have a relatively short wait, and our prayers are with all those who are currently waiting to bring home their amazing bundle of joy.  We know the Lord meant for Lucas to be in our family, and we thank Him every day for the blessing.  Thank you all for your hard work. We wouldn't be here without you!

The Christmas Prince

Dear Diane,

We have been so busy doing family things! Joshua is 32 inches tall and weighs 22.14 pounds. He's gaining his weight in height! He also has ten teeth and is about to have two molars break through on the bottom. Having said that...he eats practically everything!

We took him to see Santa yesterday and were prepared for a big scene...but he was a little angel and sat there calmly. He was mostly interested in the elves and the photo equipment. Joshua is so smart! he is such a happy and inquisitive little boy! He loves books, blocks, and walks around telling everyone that the horse says "neigh" in his little soft voice. We are so very blessed to be his mommy and daddy! Merry Christmas to all of you!

The Perfect Addition

Dear Diane, Libby, and the rest of the Lifetime Family,

We wanted to thank you all for everything that you have done to
help us make our family complete. We know that God has perfect timing and we appreciate Lifetime being a part of His plan. Although the wait seemed long at the time, we believe God was preparing us for the perfect child and situation. As we listened to the webinars every month, we somehow knew we would be the "drop-in-the-lap" situation. When the time came, we were totally prepared because of all that Lifetime had taught us.

Kylie is the most wonderful baby! She is calm, patient, and happy and the

sister to love and protect. Although she is very petite, she is growing

Hope all is well with both of you!  We have been extremely busy getting ready for Christmas and we will be moving into our new home right before Christmas, so we are really excited for that.  It's hard to believe Brecklyn is four, going to pre-school and growing so big!  It seems the years have flown by and before we know it she will be in Kindergarten.  We think of Brecklyn's birthparents often. We tried on her Christmas dress today, and I was able to get her to stop for one picture as she was busy twirling around being a princess!

We're so thankful for Brecklyn; as Lance put it last night, she is our inspiration.  We wouldn't ask for it any other way.  I pray for waiting families this holiday season and want to reassure them that God knows the right time for your child to come into your lives.  God's timing is "Simply Amazing"!

He is trying to crawl and sit up on his own. He has two teeth and the bottom and man, can he babble very loudly! We just love it. He is such a blessing and a joy to our lives. Bringing Joy

It is hard to believe that David is now 17 months old! He is such a joy to our family. He loves to run and play with his friends. He also loves to kick the soccer ball and ride in his little red wagon with his older brother Ryan. He loves singing “Head, shoulders, knees and toes” and his favorite foods are macaroni and cheese, mandarin oranges and chicken nuggets. Baby's First Halloween

Hi Veronica,

We had a great First Halloween! We had a cute little penguin in our house. We had the opportunity to meet another Lifetime adoptive mother who had already completed her adoption. Rosemary reached out to her three weeks into being matched with our birth mother. She gave us advice when we were nervous in communicating and meeting our birthmother for the first time.  We're so happy to have met her and know we will be friends for a lifetime with our special bond as adoptive mothers!  

We have such a strong admiration for all birthmothers, who will put their child before themselves.  I came to realize my role as a mother by my birthmother's beautiful decision with adoption.  I pray that the Lord continues to help heal her mind, body and soul...not just today, but every day. I truly feel that adoptive mothers are picked by GOD, because it takes a strong woman to overcome whatever challenges (infertility) or fears (bonding/accepting) leading up to adoption.

It was just over a year ago that we were matched with our birthmother, and as I sit here writing you this email and peek over my shoulder at this remarkable little boy napping, I can help hold back my emotions and think that life is beautiful!

Precious Little Guy

Hi Amie,

We're finally getting around to sending you an update on our little guy, Aidan. We just got back from his first doctor's appointment -- he's doing great. He weighed seven pounds, eight ounces at birth. Now, he's gained a pound. He's awesome!

We were lucky to spend some good time with his birth mother. I hope and think we reassured her that she made the right decision (she told us so) and we asked her a bunch of questions about his older biological sister and family history.

Little Lady

We recently had our family pictures taken and our photographer got some great pictures of Stella. It is crazy to think she will be two in January because it seems like just yesterday we got your call about her birthmom. Stella is talking more and more and loves all things girly. Although she has a "no-fear" and spirited personality, she loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses constantly. We are blessed to call her our daughter!

Trick or Treat

We are doing great!  The kids have been so happy and healthy.  They make each other laugh all the time. We heard from Cassidy's birthmom recently and she is also doing well.  Connor's birthmom is hoping to come out and visit again soon.  Connor had so much fun for Halloween, he can't wait for next year!  We just purchased our flights to finalize Cassidy's adoption. Connor will go with us this time.

Hi Everyone!

Max keeps us so busy and we are loving every minute of it! We had his birthday party this past weekend and it was great. We had a Halloween theme. He loved running around with everyone. He did not smash his cake at all (like most babies do). He does not like dirty/sticky hands, so that was kind of funny! He got lots of awesome gift; our family room is overrun with toys. Max also had his one year check up this week. He is very advanced for his age according to his pediatrician (so not just our opinion haha). We have been so lucky, he has never been sick this whole year. Not one cold, fever, infection, or anything. We can't wait to see what this next year will bring. Hope you all are doing well, and have a great Thanksgiving. We know we have a lot to be thankful for!

Life of the Party

Hello Veronica!

We hope you are well. We just wanted to share an update on Jalen Michael. He is just about one week shy of nine months and is getting so BIG!  What's even bigger is his personality!  He says "mama," "dada," "papa," "nana," "baba" (for bottle), "eat," "more" (for more food), "hi," "boo," "Elmo" (his favorite), and his newest is, "What's up", which is what his Uncle Gabe asks him every time he sees him!

He is the life of every outing and party, and he loves to people watch and give high five's! He's pulling himself up and we think he's going to bypass crawling all together!  Jalen is ready for Halloween as papa recently showed him how to scare people...Jalen giggles with their surprise reaction!

Some real exciting news is that this summer we met two other Lifetime families at an event held by our home study provider.  It was awesome meeting the Lifetime adoptive mother who gave support and prayers when I was awaiting the arrival of Jalen.  Jalen fell in love with both Lifetime girls!  He's such a flirt!

We keep you in our prayers along with all the other Lifetime Angels as well as the waiting families and especially our birthmother.  We send our birthmother quarterly photos and she recently wrote us that she loves to look at all the photos at the end of her day.  

Jalen Michael is truly a gift from GOD and his timing was perfect!

Can't believe that it's been five years already.  Your company has truly been a blessing! Angel turned five last week and had to miss kindergarden this year because her birthday is late, but I have her in a real good Pre-K 4 class at a local Christian school. She is a normal five year old (going on 25) dramatic spoiled little girl that talks a lot.  Very bright.  I keep wondering on how she learns all this stuff she tells me. We're Living Out Our Dream Come True!

Dear Veronica and our Lifetime Family,

It is hard to believe how fast Katie is growing up! She has been keeping us so busy, it has been hard to find time to write. We are living out our dream come true! Raising our precious daughter is bringing us great joy (and a few challenges)!

Katie loves to run, climb, jump, dance and swim! She loves playing with baby dolls and pretend food and having “tea” parties with her friends. We had many family adventures this summer, including visiting our East Coast friends while on our vacation to Walt Disney World and participating in the half marathon weekend at Disneyland. Katie ran in the 100 meter dash, rode in the jogger for the 5K and cheered daddy on in the half marathon!

We pray for the staff, waiting families and birthmoms often. We enjoy talking to and providing prayer and emotional support for perspective and waiting Lifetime families. We even got to meet another Lifetime family in person recently that we had been praying for. It was so exciting to see our Lifetime children together!

We can never thank you enough for the huge part you had in creating our forever family!
